None of this cease fire talk is meant for western audiences, it's as everything the Kremlin puts out purely aimed at the domestic audience. To paint the Ukrainians as heretics to warm people up to the next round of mobilization.

After bombing Ukrainians through Christmas and New Years, Russia has called on Ukraine to respect Russian Orthodox Christmas and allow a ceasefire so Russians can celebrate peacefully. ?

The AMX10 might struggle a bit in the wintry season. It was designed as light and wheeled for speedy intervention un Western Europe using roads to get to to the front.
Regardless. I am still worried about us running out of things to provide Ukraine before Russia runs out itself of weapons.
I would prefer to deliver to Ukraine new products freshly built as a confirmation that the west can support Ukraine for the long run that this war could be.

Yup long gone, any Scorpions left were converted into Sabre's (30mm Rarden turrets off CVR(W) Fox's) in the 90's. They were then binned in the 2000's leaving the Scimitar in the CVR(T) role. As you mentioned there are plenty of Scimitar and other wagons from the family redistributed to the likes of Ukraine and Latvia.
If the rock show that is UK IFV procurement carries on the way it is, the Warriors or AJAX could be up for a new home sooner rather than later.

It’s only about 15 tons, so should be ok with chains in the mud. Possibly even an advantage over some vehicles.
I think the west has changed gear, the ruskis raised 300k mobiks, already a good number are dead, this hasn’t really caused many problems for putin, and now it seems his plan is to throw another million Russian bodies in, and see if this makes a difference. West hoped this would make Russian people do something, or make putin reconsider, doesn’t seem to be happening. So the west needs to move up, and it seems it is. 100 micv, U.K. talks of ‘tanks’. The air defence improvements seem to be holding, ukr strikes Russian air bases etc. and massed Russian troops get himard…
West is also building new vehicles for Ukraine, and ramping up missiles and arty shells.
It continues to be a meat grinder, seemingly over some mid level city none of us has ever heard of. It’s really a joke, any half sane leader would have somehow found a ceasefire, blame some general, convieniently near a window, and promise a better tomorrow. Maybe west starts to realise we need to not just hold Russia, but actually defeat them, in 2023. Better get on with it. West has better things to do than this.
