The photos below while excellent are almost to pristine to be "real". How is it that these mates work on the flight deck and around military aircraft and not get dirty? Amazing! I know one thing that keeps the dirt and grease off of them. No catapults. Catapults are a greasy mess. But their is arresting gear. Which is just as greasy. Perhaps these mates were issued new gear for this photo op. ;)

All in all these are OUTSTANDING photos! Simply OUTSTANDING.

More CV-16 operations. I'm still waiting for
1) VERTREP
2) UNREP
3) Fire Drills
4) Rig the barricade drill
5) Night time flight ops.....photos.

As of yet I've seen zero of these type photos. Chinese boards are stating that the ship is conducting night ops...I don't doubt they do night ops. the ship has been in comission for nearly six years. I just want to see some photos.

It’s believed that the maiden voyage was primarily meant to test the carrier’s conventional oil-fueled steam turbine power plant and other communication, navigation and steering systems.

The new flattop will cast off for more sea trials in the coming months as the Chinese navy expects to receive it by the end of the year for installation of weapons and air complement.

State media have played down the first sailing of the carrier on May 13, just one year and two weeks after it was launched.

In April China conducted a Naval parade. Here's a Chinese made video of the event. They really know how to put on a show. Check out those sailors coming on the flight deck.
