Germany:
Four of the six Type 23 torpedo boats tied up together at Gaeta, Italy during a Goodwill visit in 1938. The heavy cruiser Deutschland can be seen in the background.
This photo is often mislabelled as being taken in Naples, Italy. Of further note is the stern design of the Type 23 torpedo boats. Of the six ships, the first of the class, Möwe, had a slightly different hull design. She was slightly shorter than her sisters and possessed a rounded "cruiser" stern. Her five sister ships all utilized slightly longer hulls and had a transom stern. This makes Möwe easily seen to the left of the group in the photo.
