The crew of USS Nautilus (SSN-571) grumbled when a 1958 experiment required them to go days without showering to test the effectiveness of a chemical designed to keep undershirts odorless. The crew complained that the test was unnecessary because not only did their advanced new submarine have the capability to make enough fresh water for the crew to bath regularly, it also had washing machines.

HMAS Sydney (42) is the 3rd Hobart class destroyer of the Royal Australian Navy.

The last gun cruiser in any navy. Built by the Dutch in 1953 and commissioned as HNLMS De Ruyter (C801). Then, she was bought by the Peruvian Navy in 1973 and served proudly as BAP Almirante Grau (CLM-81) and became the fleet flagship.

Decomissioned in 2017, with her faith uncertain - at first, there was an idea to turn her into a museum ship. Then, in February 2022, she was listed for sale (for over 1,1M $). Ultimately, she got scrapped in July 2022.
