Due to her late construction, Scorcher would not see action during the second world war. In 1951 she would be involved in the search for the missing submarine Affray alongside her sisters Sirdar & Scythian, and in 1956 (fittingly) suffered a fire during an exercise.
She was sold in 1962 and later broken up.

31 August 1935, Portsmouth Royal Dockyard. HMS Ramillies (07) shows her bow damage resulting from a collision with a German Norddeutscher-Lloyd steamer Eisenach in the Strait of Dover at 7:39 pm the day before.

Ramillies accidentally collided with the German steamship Eisenach in a gale in the Strait of Dover on 31 August; her bow was slightly damaged in the incident

This was part of a series of border skirmishes with some fatalities, which brought the countries to the edge of nuclear war. The dispute was eventually resolved after the cold war.

Imperial Germany:
Ironclad SMS Grosser Kurfürst sinking on her maiden voyage after being accidentally rammed by her sister ship SMS König Wilhelm, waters off Folkestone, 31 May 1878

The SMS Grosser Kurfürst was a modified Preussen-class ironclad. In May 1878 she and her three sister ships sailed for what was for two of them their maiden voyage (and her captain would later criticize the lack of time for proper commissioning and crew training); off Folkestone, trying to avoid some boats, the SMS König Wilhelm accidentally rammed her, and she sank in eight minutes.
This sinking, other than compromising the prestige of the Kaiserliche Marine and costing it precious funding for a decade, would lead to a long, bitter series of court martials and trials for those involved, from the squadron commander to the Kürfurt's captain.

Italy:
A barrel-less twin 100 mm DP mount used to train gunners, on the forecastle of a Duca d'Aosta-class light cruiser

It was common for Italian cruisers to be fitted with a so-called "falsa culatta" (lit. "false breech", basically a mount without barrels) of its 100 mm DP mounts, to train gunners and help them gain speed to reload these guns. A well-trained gun crew would manage a rate of 10 rounds per minute, i.e. a round every six seconds.
