RN:
Rear Admiral Stuart Bonham-Carter (R) of the 18th Cruiser Squadron and Captain Hugh Faulkner (L) on the bridge of HMS Edinburgh, April 1942. Sailors regarded the admiral's presence with superstition, as both HMS Edinburgh and HMS Trinidad were sunk under his command.
HMS Scorcher coming into the fitting-out basin following her launch. December 1944.
Due to her late construction, Scorcher would not see action during the second world war. In 1951 she would be involved in the search for the missing submarine Affray alongside her sisters Sirdar & Scythian, and in 1956 (fittingly) suffered a fire during an exercise.
She was sold in 1962 and later broken up.
