Hit by a GNAT torpedo from U-378 while escorting convoy SC 143 on 8 October 1943, Orkan sank within a few minutes. One officer and 43 ratings were rescued by HMS Musketeer, 179 dead. The sinking is the largest loss of life from a single incident in Polish Navy history.

INS Ranvir, a guided missile destroyer of the Indian Navy & BNS Abu Ubaidah, a Type 053H3 frigate Frigate of Bangladesh Navy, participated in the India-Bangladesh Naval Exercise Bongosagar-25 and Coordinated Patrol CORPAT in the Bay of Bengal. The exercise featured advanced tactical manoeuvres, underway replenishment, VBSS & communication drills.
