Aquidabã (Portuguese: [akidaˈbɐ̃]), anglicized as Aquidaban, was a Brazilian ironclad battleship built in the mid-1880s. The ship participated in two naval revolts; during the second she was sunk by a government torpedo boat. After being refloated, Aquidabã was sent to (Germany) for repairs and modernisation. During a routine cruise in 1906, the ship's ammunition magazines exploded, which caused the vessel to sink rapidly with a great loss of life.

USN:
A Navy Mark V special operations craft, a 50-ton, 82-foot-long speed boat used to insert and extract SEAL combat swimmers in and out of high-threat areas, is squeezed into a C-5 Galaxy aircraft from the 349th Air Mobility Wing, Travis Air Force Base, California, with only inches to spare. Not only do the loadmasters manage to wedge the boat aboard as well as the 18-wheel tractor trailor it sits on, but they also fit in a "deuce-and-a-half" truck (not shown), and a High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) and trailer (not shown). The Mark V and its trailer were constructed with the C-5 and rapid global mobility in mind. 10th Jan 1999

"Victory Breaks the Enemy Line" by Geoff Hunt
tmmltyhsqi861.jpg

Trafalgar, 21st October 1805. The climactic moment of the career of Victory as Nelson drives her into the French and Spanish line at Trafalgar, her sails already rent by the unreturnable fire she endured during the long approach to the enemy line.

Victory is about to pass under the stern of the French flagship, Bucentaure. The port broadside of Victory, about to be unleashed, is thought to have dismounted twenty guns and killed or wounded four hundred men, virtually eliminating Admiral Villeneuve”s flagship from the battle. Entering from the left is the 74-gun Redoutable; from this ship was fired the shot that killed Nelson.
