Museum ship USS Edson (DD 946)

In May of 2014.....Our visit to USS Edson (DD 946) We visited Saginaw MI to see my son who was doing an internship so he will be a certified Dietician....

My wife and myself went to a museum ship in Bay City MI. USS Edson (DD 946) . She is a Forrest Sherman class DD.

ex=USS Edson (DD 946) in Bay City MI. We went aboard her last Friday. It was very cool weather day. It was great to talk to the shipmates aboard that are doing volunteer work to get the ship squared away. Photos by Mrs Popeye..

This shipmate pictured above was a cook aboard Edson from '68 to '71. He comes from Florida to lend a hand on re-furbishing the ship....The galley aboard Edson is functional thanks to this shipmate! He got it squared away!!

The USS Coucal (ASR-8) was a Chanticleer-class submarine rescue ship in the United States Navy.

Coucal was launched 29 May 1942 by Moore Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co., Oakland, California; sponsored by Mrs. D. A. Scott; and commissioned 22 January 1943, Lieutenant Commander D. H. Byerly, USNR, in command. She was stricken 15 September 1977
