INS TRIKAND ESCORTS WORLD FOOD PROGRAMME SHIP

Indian Naval Ship Trikand is providing escort for MV Annika, a UN affiliated merchant ship transporting relief material from Berbera (Somaliland) to Mombasa (Kenya) through piracy prone waters, under the World Food Programme.

The World Food Programme (WFP) initiative of the United Nations supplies relief and nutrition material to the underprivileged in Africa, but the vessels transporting these materials are often targets of the pirates operating from the East Coast of Somalia.

The presence of INS Trikand as escort is a deterrent against any assymetric attacks, and underlines the Indian Navy's commitment towards maritime security in the Indian Ocean Region.

There is literally no difference. Just sharp gas block cut in Trichy and curvy in M1F41. No cleaning rod in Trichy.

Arsenal is offering side folding stock with M1F41

In case of Trichy fixed, side folding, under folding & adjustable stocks are being offered.

It's kind of TOT licensed production so Trichy is exact copy of M1F41 with minor differences in gas block, stock & pistol grip.
