Generally, despite all the speculation about how this war might end the existing agreements and prevent the normalization with the Saudis, pretty much the opposite is the true. It would require them to have the courage of their opinion.

But they neither courage, nor opinion, nor even courageous opinion. All they have, in mind, is their political career and legacy.

They don't care if it means signing in on a war, not signing on another, providing relief or not, vetting or vetoing resolutions, etc...

All they care about is expediency.

And, to some extent, who could blame them? The consequences of being right, or wrong, are immense. And who can tell if they made the right choice at the moment they made it? We all make choices thinking they were the right ones.

Either Rafael was turned off, or there is a minimal distance for the system to activate.
I guess.

As for them getting that close... well... that's basically a rerun of Vietnam and WW2 Pacific Theater.
There are lots of tunnels dug, with lots of manholes, making it easy for Hamas&cie to pop in close proximity or even behind the IDF's back.

9 out of 10 times they are, sometimes they get lucky and then you have a video like that. Also, all you can see is a flash, which might be either APS interception or a hit. There is probably a good reason, the aftermath of the shot is not shown - perhaps there is not much to show…
