German prisoners and their American guard crouch behind an M-10 Tank Destroyer ("Cynthia Eileen") for protection from a barrage of German self-propelled guns. The prisoners were captured by Infantrymen of the 4th Infantry Division, U.S. Third Army in the Prüm Valley, Germany on February 28, 1945.

The PzBefWg III was a command version of the Pzkpfw III with a dummy gun and extra radio equipment. The metal rack behind the turret is the main radio antenna. 175 Ausf. H were built between late 1940 and early 1942 and served to war’s end.
Burkhard was awarded the German Cross in Gold, 29/10/1943
The Gold Cross was awarded to military personnel for 6-8 exceptional acts of bravery or achievements in combat.
