Philippines:
The delivery of the 16 Polish-made S-70i "Black Hawk" combat utility helicopters in the country has been completed, the Philippine Air Force (PAF) said on Tuesday.

In an interview with reporters, PAF spokesperson, Col. Maynard Mariano said the last batch of five S-70i "Black Hawk" helicopters were transported to the Clark Air Base in Angeles City, Pampanga on Monday morning.

"(The last five S-70i helicopters), it was transported by an Antonov aircraft (An-124) that landed in Clark around 10:45 a.m. Again the (manufacturing) company is the PZL Mielec from Poland. (They are the company that has the license from the US) to build the 'Black Hawk'," Mariano said.

He added that they have started the technical inspection of the brand new aircraft before commissioning them into service.

November 12, 2021, the Japanese Coast Guard received the third patrol ship PLH 35 Asadzuki / あ さ) づ き with a total displacement of 9 thousand tons built by Mitsubishi Shipbuilding in Shimonoseki.
 
November 18, 2021, Mitsubishi Shipbuilding in Shimonoseki hosted the launching ceremony of the second Multi-Role Response Vessels (MRRV) patrol ship under construction for the Philippine Coast Guard as part of the second phase of the Japan-Philippine Maritime Safety Capability Improvement Project (MSCIP) joint program.

On February 7, 2020, the Philippine Department of Transport signed with Japanese shipbuilding company Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Co. (part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries) a contract to build two 97-meter MRRV patrol ships for the Philippine Coast Guard. The ships were built on the basis of the project of the Kunigami-class patrol ships currently under construction for the Japanese Coast Guard.

Both ships will become the largest units of the Philippine HCS.

Spanish Airbus group in Seville, first Airbus C295W turboprop military transport aircraft, built for the Philippine Air Force, undergoing flight tests. The aircraft is scheduled to be handed over to the customer in December 2021.
In 2015, the Ministry of National Defense of the Philippines signed a contract with Airbus Defense and Space (the military arm of the Airbus group) for the purchase of three C295W twin-engine turboprop military transport aircraft worth 5.29 billion Philippine pesos ($ 119 million).

- Shore Based Anti Ship Missile System for the Marines (again Brahmos)
- Additional 32 Combat Utility Helicopters (Kielbasa Blackhawks)

Contracts recently signed/ or mentioned to be signed by January are:
- 2 Corvettes (SoKor)
- 6 OPV (Aussie)

Pending status:
- 5 C130J (hopeful as the super typhoon just showed they are needed)
- 2 Strategic Sealif Vessels (no takers)
- 2 Submarines (PN mentioned they almost signed it but Covid means funds were diverted)
- MRF (cock tease for the longest time)

When a Chinese submarine entered the Malacca Strait on December 20, heading towards the Indian Ocean, there was speculation about where it was going. This was answered when it pulled into the Yangon River, Myanmar, on December 23. Literally the next day it was commissioned into the Myanmar Navy as UMS Minye Kyaw Htin.

The sale, or transfer, had not been announced in advance. It highlights the growing influence of China in the region and the role submarine sales play in the geopolitical arena.

Myanmar Commissions Type 35B Ming-Class Submarine From China

Myanmar commissioned a former People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN or Chinese Navy) Type 35B Ming-class submarine from China last week. The submarine, named "UMS Minye Kyaw Htin" joined the fleet during a ceremony on 24 December 2021 which also marked the 74th Anniversary of the Myanmar Navy.
