The city center has transformed somewhat. Now there are pick pockets and there are beggars on every street corner (that is due to certain poorer countries making it into schenngen so it'snot due to illegals). Taxi drivers have fist fights every now and then. And I've also seen these kind of group fights that I never saw before.
The change was fast from homogeneous country to a country where you often get service only in English in some restaurants.
But I don't think that anecdotes trump stats.

Our new PM, seems to have a difficulty with telling 'everyone' to behave. in his view, anyone misbehaving is 'Far-Right'. He then tacks onto each of the 3 speeches that he will protect Muslims and mosques. The point alot of british people are trying to make, is that they would like this 'special' level of protection, available to everyone, but especially 6 year old white girls.
in my opinion he should be saying:
Everyone needs to behave
All violent acts will be investigated and prosecuted
Get off the streets if you don't want to be arrested, and get your kids/young men off the streets
I told you in my election campaign, that we have a plan for immigration, and for crime, and I'm trying to get on with it.
The immigration issue, is that Blair let in millions, for reasons hard to fathom the conservatives continued this for 14 years, and just before the election the figures came out, and the conservatives were like 'how did that happen'.
But again for reasons not really explained, the treasury expects/plans for another 7M over the next 10 years. But we build about 1/3 of the homes this number would need. At the same time we have millions of people on sick benefits(not a great way to live).
And for the areas that are rioting, these are the 'below average' industrial cities, where your minimum wage job packing fishfingers could easily be taken by a recent arrival. So for these people they are 'scared' of immigrants taking their jobs.
And then on top of this, we have an issue not so much 'knife' crime, but machete waving crime, a lot to do with drugs, but a lot of the people are black, as are a lot of the victims, especially in London. Actual murder rate is fairly level, and by American standards miniscule, and slightly above Germany, which also has a 'mixed' population.
Add on the soft policing of the palestinian marches, in London, every week, and the airport incident where a policeman kicked a muslim in the head, mass condemnation from politicians, and then 2 weeks later we get the video of the muslim punching the police 20 times... and its easy to suggest 2 tier policing, which is then confirmed by the PM as only Muslims get 'special protection'.
I cant work out if starmer is trying to be strong, and deliberately winding up the white working class, of if he's stupid, and accidentally winding up the white working class.

The Philippines have always been important to America. They had no commerce and no way to make any money. In WWII under Japanese rule and even after the return of US forces the people were eating from garbage cans of the camps. By the way my step father was Filipino and Retired US Navy a second retirement with Data Process Corporation San Diego. His Father was a Sgt Major in the Philippine Army wartime. His brother was a graduate of the West Point of the Philippines and retired a 4 star general. I think you would be hard pressed to find someone from his era that would complain about US Involvement. You dislike America but don't know squat about us other than reading some Marxist BS.
We know exactly what the agenda of those illegals really are, they gather at a bill paying counter at walmart and citizens can't even pay their monthly bills because there are so many illegals wiring that US green back to their home in the southern hemisphere. We have good immigration laws that have been good for all that wish to come to America. Liberals do not obey their oaths to protect the laws and constitution regarding immigration. It is written no one shall be allowed citizenship unless they can write and speak English, we even send them to school to study so they can become citizens. Liberals want people who will willingly go to voting station and vote knowing full well they are not allowed to vote if they are not citizens. Yes we know the effects of illegals. The economy rules the cost of housing not an illegal. Today the economy is shattered by that Squid sleeping in the White House Oval Office

So the most common is criminality, which is in line with letting these poor immigrants in... to aggitate the locals. Now with what you have experienced is that the biggest threat to your way of life and not the cut backs in social expenditures of the state, lower the expenditure on education etc?

While the rioters in northern England are protesting against three young girls having been stabbed to death while the UK police and govt kept way too quiet and showed zero transparency on the tragedy (oh, but he’s a minor…) some felt like enough was enough.
So far I always thought what Fluff accurately calls the white working class was incredibly resilient regarding the current state of our countries. Paris got the bataclan and terrace attacks : 130 dead, not a single retaliatory attack against Muslims (something the Jihadist expect at some point), same with the Nice truck attack, Manchester Arena, Berlin, Barcelona you name it.
Beyond terrorism or “random killings” the petty crimes have skyrocketed, gangs from Eastern Europe (from a certain ethnicity) pillaging France or Germany.
What do you expect? I’m all for pity and misery but I’d love to see French baguette eater and German Doppelbock drinker go to Africa committing felonies and crimes and the firing squad would be there quicker than Ceaucescu and his wifey would be executed.
It’s the demographic stupid. Europeans used to be plentiful, we’re already a thing of the past. Have children and vote reasonably and things may change otherwise our tradition and culture will be gonzo.

Heh, here we spend more and more on these each year and keep getting more and more in debt.
I mean, we are a country with publicly paid education and a student allowance coupled with universal health care.
Biggest threat is the potential decline of economy and aging population if we keep going this way.
Immigration and it's potential issues are a problem among others. With immigrants from some countries we see that it's a net loss, while we are bringing them in to benefit the economy.

Just follow the money trail usually... any state can put a stop to illegals and crime if they truly wanted to. However, how would that impact their activities, when people will start scrutinizing something else, like their economic policies?
Nobody needs to own you, they just need you to follow and play by their rules.
- Your nutrition was dictated by the Agriculture industry and the corporations that run it
- Your medicines are controlled by big pharma, so much that people were praising Mark Cuban for bringing generic drugs to the US, when its been happening all over the world.
- Can you even do business as an entrep without being hounded by laws included as barriers to entry? Where's most of the mom and pops store you grew up with that hasnt been killed by walmart? The biggest employer in most of the red states too
- JP Morgan is about to spend $1 billion in buying up houses all over the US and I'm pretty sure it wont be good for the market.
- Ford is the reason for the 40 hour work week
- Your watches time are set on systems made by the railroad companies
- Heck the office coffee break was a Dunkin Donut marketing ploy.
Isnt that what lobbyists are for, to make sure the "politicians" listen to them more than you and I?
The only thing that is probably free and have not been influenced is the air that you breath... that will also probably change soon.
The US has thrived based on how smart and ruthless the government can be, not because of its general population. The population will follow what is being fed to them. Most of my point is what Trump has been saying in the so called draining the Swamp, it's just that he is part of that system and will give you the low baring fruit.
On the illegals, sending money. That's pretty much what all the immigrant groups have been doing since the US was formed. I would say there are more legal migrants that are sending far bigger amounts that most illegals can ever imagine. In fact more than an agenda, thats what most people would do who work hard... help their family locally or abroad. Could probably stop illegal migration for some once they get that money.
Now, wasnt it Ronald Reagan that gave amnesty to 3 million illegals back in 1986? Wasnt it also Bill Clinton in 1996 that passed the revised Immigration law, that made migration to the US so draconian;y strict? So which side wants illegals more? My opinion, would be the admin that needs them as a distraction when needed. No side is clean on this one.
FYI... and no the immigration laws passed by Good Ole Bill was very draconian for legal immigrants. It isnt as good as you think it is for those who wish to come to the US legally. I lived through it.
I'm going to ignore the "you hate the US" part, as that simply how these forums go to hell. Just as a backgrounder, legal immigrant to the US, mom is an American citizen and step dad served the US well, model student and would say more highly indoctrinated by the US government than your average American student back then. By that I mean, was placed in Advanced Placement US History, Civil Air Patrol Cadet, had an uncle that was a Commodore in the US Navy, had a Congressman willing to endorse me for one of the service academies, etc. When I say "the United States sends its sons to die in distant lands, it isnt for Freedom or Democracy, its for an American interest there" thats me parroting a US Air Force Colonel talking to us, or when I say "Trust none of what you hear and only half of what you are seeing" thats a US Navy intelligence personel talking to us.

If they want to defeat being overran just turn off the jobs. Denmark tried allowing in foreign workers and today it is their nightmare scenario, they are overran. With foreigners working and paying taxes they were able to give citizens better spiffs like paid school with even advanced degrees for those that chose to get the higher degrees. Extravagant vacations and work weeks for those citizens who do work. Someone has to pay for all of it and a small population can drain the bank very quickly. I don't think anyone in the world is happy today with all these politicians that have used people to get a vote. There are already sharia courts and it's not like muslims have the freedom to choose between a sharia court or a British one. It's either go along with it or it's acid in the face, being ambushed by male relatives with knives or being taken on "vacation" to be surprise married off to a 70 y/o relative.

What happening in England is insane. My heart goes out to our British members at this difficult moment.
My 2c perspective on what is happening.
First, completely expected and unavoidable, unfortunately. I've been watching what's happening in Europe for couple of decades now. Armed with Israeli perspective it always was crystal clear to me that there will be happy ending to all of it. Basically, I simply could not see a possible outcome, which was not going to be one of two main options:
1. The correction option
A range of possibilities, starting from some sort of massive civilian violence (including a civil war) to a temporary suspension of democracy with mass stripping off citizenship and deportations. Those possibilities don't have to be mutually exclusive - the latter might follow the former, for example.
2. The demise option
Civil and political disintegration into deeply dysfunctional sectarian society like Lebanon. As a matter of fact, Lebanon is more or less the perfect example of the trajectory the European Western countries are currently on - namely, rapid demographic changes (crucially, Middle Eastern Muslims vs Western[-ized] Christians), which rapidly remade a prosperous free westernized society into... well, what it is today.
This is a common mistake, BTW, on part of people, who think UK, France, Sweden or Germany will become some sort of Sharia states, like Saudi Arabia. For various reasons I'm not going to expand on for now, this not what is going to happen in the second option at all - Lebanon is by far the more correct/relevant example, than a typical Gulf Kingdom. Houellebecq's "Submission", usually lauded as prophecy, is very - optimistically - wrong.
I'm truly sorry this is happening, I can only imagine the pain and anxiety for the future the British people are experiencing now... but maybe something good will come out of all this chaos eventually.
