That would be clever, but I doubt the Biden administration is that clever.

The US actually looks like it made the right decision. There was no nation to build up, they destroyed al queda and punished the Taliban for helping out the terrorist organization. Its actually one of the missions that probably helped made America and Americans safer out there. The Taliban would most likely be quick to nip extremists that would target the US in the bud. Unless they miss living in their caves. The US destroyed Talibans gains for decades in a matter of months and made the Taliban lives miserable for 20 years and the US didnt even break a sweat... you dont see the same desperation to get out like the Soviet Union had.

The Afghans had 20 years to build up a nation, if it crumbled that quickly then maybe it was the shitty alternative.

The Indian C-17A is reported to have delivered 40 tons of 122mm Soviet-style howitzers ammunition to Kabul. Apparently, in recent days, the consumption of artillery ammunition is very high, since at least in some way it allows you to repel Taliban attacks.

It’s Situation Normal for U.S. Diplomats in Kabul, Despite Taliban Gains
The Biden administration is determined to keep a diplomatic presence in Afghanistan as the 20-year conflict comes to a close.

This is one of the largest American embassies in the world: it employs 4,000 people, including 1,400 Americans.
650 servicemen will be involved to guard the embassy, and by the beginning of September, several hundred more will be at the Kabul airport.

That region of the world needs to sort itself out. You're not solving anything by keeping it under permanent military occupation. All that achieves is just extending the grace period before the storm hits.
20 years of the world's biggest military machine enforcing its rules there leads to the swiftest and quickest geographic take-over by Taliban, surprising absolutely nobody.

Build a wall. China's experienced in that, could maybe help out with some brick laying.
