The Iranian government is not exactly the greatest Taleban fan club. However, the Talibs have struck a tacit agreement with Iran to not get bothered while operating in the Afghan border provinces. The reason is that Iran wants peace and order right across the border and when the Afghan government cannot provide for it, the Taleban are the next best option. Moreover, the two of them have common enemies: ISIS and the United States. Allegedly this went as far as Iran providing weapons to the Taleban so they could counter IS.
