Spanish Navy Ship Mendez Nunez with a crew of 30 officers and 135 sailors, is on a visit to Mumbai. As part of the visit, the Commanding Officer is scheduled to call on Flag Officer Commanding, Maharashtra Naval Area.










 
Myanmar Navy Ship UMS King Tabin Shwe Htee and UMS Inlay are on a visit to Port Blair for the ‘Opening Ceremony’ of the 8th Indo-Myanmar coordinated patrol. The Myanmar delegation led by Commodore Htein Win, Commander Ayeyarwady Naval Command called on Commodore Ashutosh Ridhorkar, Naval Component Commander on 20 May 2019. The coordinated patrol (CORPAT) by the two navies is aimed to address terrorism, illegal fishing, drug trafficking, human trafficking, poaching, and other illegal activities.

Flt Lt Bhawana Kanth adds another feather to her cap by completing Day Operational syllabus on MiG-21 Bison aircraft. She is the first women fighter pilot to be qualified to undertake missions by day on a fighter aircraft. Bhawana joined the fighter squadron in Nov 2017 & flew the 1st solo on MiG-21 Bison in Mar 2018.





 
IAF successfully fired the BrahMos air version missile from its frontline Su-30 MKI fighter aircraft today. The launch from the aircraft was smooth & the missile followed the desired trajectory before directly hitting the land target.


 
A 14 member Myanmar Air Force team was on a two-day visit to Air Force Station Jorhat on 27 & 28 May 2019. The Myanmar Air Force personnel were given a glimpse of IAF’s ethos and work culture through interaction visits to various sections at Air Force Station Jorhat.
Air Commodore SK Verma, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Jorhat interacted with the team. Both sides appreciated the need for increased cooperation between the Air Force of the two Nations.




 











Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicle (DSRV) based at Visakhapatnam, successfully undertook live mating exercise on 02 Jun 2019. The exercise included personnel transfer from a bottomed submarine, which simulated as a submarine in distress. The evolution was undertaken by an Indian crew and marks the culmination of training phase on the East coast. The submarine hatches on which the mating was carried out has been certified by IN Submarine Designer (DND (SDG))
 
Indian Naval Ship Vibhuti, a Veer class missile vessel, was commissioned into the Indian Navy on 03 June 1991. The ship has a displacement of 502 tonnes, a length of 56 meters, the beam of 10 meters and is capable of speed in excess of 30 knots. She is manned by a crew of seven officers and 104 sailors.
