Hi guy's as some of you know I have done a great deal of research on my grandad's war history with 12 Regt RHA (HAC) and I have found an issue with his Divisional Artillery Insignia.
As you can see in the picture below.... One says ...74 on the first picture and the second picture says ...76 on the M7 Priest.
Can I ask what your thoughts are on this.
Thanks BOB.T

The 12th RHA Regiment was formed of Honourable artillery companies (Territorial Army)
I believe (will need further checking) that the numbers 74 and 76 will relate to the number of the parent HAC Regiment.

Thats just off the top of my head but will look further later today after work. :)

I have a great deal of stuff and it's clear that the RHA is listed differently from a Field Regiment which 152 Regt was.... Both being TA units could it be that the description of the M7 preist picture is in error ......... If the top picture is correct 😁🤔

It could be an error, interestingly some of the crew have Scottish head dress and could indicate they are part of the 152nd (Ayrshire Yeomanry) Field Regiment RA

I have just seen the same image on the IWM website which also includes text from the rear of the picture as below

The text makes no reference to 12 RHA so it is likely an assumption IMHO and is incorrect
More likely the 152nd

It's true that it doesn't say 12 on the details on the back but it just says HAC 🤔 which as you say it's more than likely to be 152nd.... just trying to get the markings correct for my models. 😁

Here is a link to another modeller who has built the priest, he describes it also as the 152nd Field Regiment RA
