The Red Army received several hundred Churchills as a part of the Anglo-Soviet lend-lease arrangements.
They subsequently fought in heavy tank units in several key battles including Stalingrad and Kursk.
Here, a camouflaged Demag D-10 half-track passes a KO'd Red Army Churchill IV somewhere in Russia, circa 43/44.

German Battleship Scharnhorst at Wilhelmshaven - April 1939

Scharnhorst was sank on December 26, 1943, 77 years ago, during the Battle of the North Cape, out of her crew of 1,968, only 36 were rescued from the frigid Arctic waters.
