Yeah - she's not necessarily wrong on any give subject but when I personally find an awful lot of what she has to say to be complete garbage then I'm not really inclined to listen to the rest of it. It's like a Piers Morgan kind of deal - sure, he might be right some of the time but if it means I have to listen to the rest of it, then it's not for me.

Hopkins is a bit of a C***, but that take of her was golden. Even a C*** has one of those every now and again, I'd argue it's actually quite counterproductive to claim otherwise due to gross hyperbole being so off-putting. Like all liberals claiming that literally each and every decision of Trump's was bad (even though his agenda and Clinton's did share some intersections).

Personally, I dislike her a lot though I admit, I'm a lot further to the left than a lot of you are

Personally, I'm not really on the right either (save perhaps on migration). And I've been becoming increasingly centrist since 2020 as the right's idiocy over mask mandates and their wheeling and dealing with Russia has grossed me out. But the thing is, the left's been moving goal posts at staggering speeds. Policies which during the noughties were considered to be just and progressive are suddenly denounced as inhumane. These days, one might get showered with death threats for stating biological facts or for defending principles like presumption of innocence.

I want the left to take their foot off the pedal and realise we can't go on like this. Society will lose all its cohesion if vanishingly small minorities like radical transgender activists or Extinction Rebellion continue to dictate political discourse in circumvention of the voters. Actually, I must take that back; I'm not even centrist. I just am. And what I am is I'm full of mistrust of anyone who presumes they're owed my vote and support to make some grand change to the status quo. It's alarming hubris to assume you've been chosen to change the world.

Don't care if it's about "ending injustice", "saving the planet" or "make [insert country] great again". Always be wary of sheer f***ing hubris.

Well, of course nobody is. I don't honestly pay attention to political commentators but of the British ones, the two I've mentioned seem particularly bad.
During the Iraq war, Morgan was editor of a British newspaper that published fake pictures of British troops torturing Iraqis and to this day fails to admit to any failure on his behalf.
Hopkins has lost a couple of court cases where she's publically accused people of committing crimes and it turned out to be wrong. Also, multiple companies she's worked for have had to publically apologise when she's stated things as fact that turned out to be wrong. I honestly don't know if she was intentionally lying or is just bad at her job, but either way - I doesn't make me want to listen to her.

The impression I got from her was of being a "controversial figure" who made her fame starting flame wars and stirring the pot.

I very vaguely remember her raising reasonable concerns, at some point, unless I am mistaking her with someone else, but they were so overwhelmingly covered under thick blankets of BS they hardly pierced the surface. Broken clock being right twice a day and such.
