You could probably google it. Many billions, hundreds of billions per year. The real question is, how many trillions and how many hundreds of thousands of live did the US spend over the past 100+ years.

Like you were the only ones. Per capita we spent far more. Doge that one.
Only really good result post ww2 was South Korea, suprised Tump hasn't been emotionally black mailing them.

Sorry, that doesn't make any sense. Who spent, for what?

NZ war dead .67% US .32% and we spent way more per capita. One list had us at the top.
I still have a model T axle forged into a crow bar from the era.

WW1 was harder.

Yeah, you can pretty much brick Windows computers for a while with a faulty/compromised automatic update. Not sure how the F-35 upgrades are performed though and if this is a real risk at all
back in the day, Tornado was a fancy tape drive. But you would update one aircraft, then fly it around for a week or 2.

The world is in the process of re-ordering itself. Call Trump crazy or whatever, but he can see it happening. The Euros want to keep the war going because it gives them a safety blanket in that Putin is engaged with Ukraine and can't hurt them.

The Cold War was over, the moment little Ukraine stopped the Russian/Soviet juggernaught.

If the Cold War is over, no need for the US to spend trillions of dollars defending Europe - or that's what some people say.
I dont think its just that. USA would prefer Europe to be strong, so yes it means USA can focus on China, but also Europe being strong can give USA support directly or indirectly against China - or indeed to contain Russia whilst USA deals with China. All are a win related to USA v China.

Here's the full statement on the agreement to an immediate ceasefire:

The following text was released by the Governments of the United States of America and Ukraine.

Today in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia — under the gracious hospitality of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman — the United States and Ukraine took important steps toward restoring durable peace for Ukraine.

Representatives of both nations praised the bravery of the Ukrainian people in defense of their nation and agreed that now is the time to begin a process toward lasting peace.

The Ukrainian delegation reiterated the Ukrainian people’s strong gratitude to President Trump, the U.S. Congress, and the people of the United States for making possible meaningful progress toward peace.

Ukraine expressed readiness to accept the U.S. proposal to enact an immediate, interim 30-day ceasefire, which can be extended by mutual agreement of the parties, and which is subject to acceptance and concurrent implementation by the Russian Federation.

The United States will communicate to Russia that Russian reciprocity is the key to achieving peace.

The United States will immediately lift the pause on intelligence sharing and resume security assistance to Ukraine.

The delegations also discussed the importance of humanitarian relief efforts as part of the peace process, particularly during the above-mentioned ceasefire, including the exchange of prisoners of war, the release of civilian detainees, and the return of forcibly transferred Ukrainian children.

Both delegations agreed to name their negotiating teams and immediately begin negotiations toward an enduring peace that provides for Ukraine’s long-term security. The United States committed to discussing these specific proposals with representatives from Russia.

The Ukrainian delegation reiterated that European partners shall be involved in the peace process.

Lastly, both countries’ presidents agreed to conclude as soon as possible a comprehensive agreement for developing Ukraine’s critical mineral resources to expand Ukraine’s economy and guarantee Ukraine’s long-term prosperity and security.
