1. Every country in the world reserves the right to use what ever weapons it has in its arsenal.
2. Trump said this, Trump said that, is not a true indication such action will be taken.
3. I seriously doubt there would be a boots on the ground invasion of Iran, sanctions and just sitting back using cruise missiles, conventional strikes on selective targets would be quite effective by themselves.
4. With regards Japan being on its knees, they were not finished and I believe the proposed casualty figures of near a million men from invading and then fighting for every square inch of the Japanese homeland would not have been to far off the mark. It was the duty of Allied Commander to use anything that would lessen casualties for their side. Particularly when the enemy has divided its civil population into homeland defence sectors with units being ordered and taught to fight to the death with no surrender.
Japan's airforce was wiped out to the extent the US airforce was relatively unopposed, the Kwantung Army was decimated and surrendered to the Soviet Union the Navy was obliterated they had something like 2 escort carriers left

from last night be it rhetoric or not “I’m not looking for war and if there is, it’ll be obliteration like you’ve never seen before. "

America needs to stop interfering where it does not belong they are making matters worse

Again, your "points" have no real meaning, as a war is NOT over until the enemy is militarily defeated or signs an unconditional surrender pact,
and until that point, you grind him into the ground.

Its clear you dont like America, that's your choice, and democratic right to have an opinion, but such comments as yours "... a word of warning to America ...." " you will be labelled international pariahs only America has used nuclear weapons in anger to do so a 3rd time will leave America very isolated and in effect the American economy might suffer in consequence and the UN will most likely move to a neutral country like Ireland or Switzerland" and " this was reported on Sky news yesterday ... a lot of people are angry this is a problem of America's own making you have false flag attacks on all tankers ... Iran isn't daft enough to attack tankers unless they are attacked first Persians are not Arabs" clearly indicate you dont have a real grasp on the situation." again your opinions, and using Sky News as a source, is hardly credible.
Iran in the past has shown its quite capable of launching attacks against shipping in the straights and she sustains with money and material one of the largest terrorist groups in the Middle-East - "Hezbollah."

Just because you do not like the USA does not mean your claims are correct either.

after Iraq and The Snowden NSA/CIA spying and uploading malware to our power grids and the theft of intellectual property and stealing information to help US companies win contracts against EU competitors .... i just don't trust America anymore they are not acting like a Ally they are more like a threat to us

...

Iwo Jima and Okinawa had shown how the Japanese intended to fight and had extracted high casualties from the attackers. In Japanese occupied parts of Asia 350,000 people were dying every month from starvation. In Japan rations for the populace were below starvation level with a famine about to occur. And even with the Soviet invasion of Manchuria and the almost daily B-29 raids and the first atomic bomb being dropped and with the Emperor himself declaring to be in favour of peace, the vote for peace was won by one vote.

Your idea that the Japanese were on the verge of surrender without the bombs, or that they could be starved or waited out is ludicrous.

Yemeni attacks on vehicles...I recommend turning the sound down unless you want to hear the never ending "Allah snackbar" chants :)

Seeing all these recordings of Houthi attacks makes wonder, where they get there ATGMs from? I'll try to find something on Google, but if anyone here has some insight, please share.

The Drones are obviously Iranian, perhaps the ATGMs are as well?

Cheers guys

Spot on @Serj , the majority of the munitions are allegedly being supplied by Iran (Y)

Picture me skeptical regarding Iran been able to keep its supply lines with Yemen open and running non stop & without incidents since 2015 in one of the busiest sea routes in the world. There has been non stop US naval presence in the Straits for years. So they would have been able to interdict any resupply run by the Iranians, or if not wanting to get their hands dirty to share full details with UAE and Saudis to get shipments intercepted.

Before Saudi Invasión Yemen was basically a huge ammo depot. Saudi Coallition basically brought into the country another shitload of ammo and weaponry. Lots of that Western equipment brought in by the Saudis is "under new management" with the Houthis after capture. So this conflict is far from over. It will take years for the Yemenis to run out of ammo and ATGMs. They havent run out of SRBMs yet despite the Saudi 4 year bombing campaign.

Valid points you make here. What is particularly disturbing to me, is how proficiently a bunch of half-naked partisans used ballistic missiles and the like. Which brings me to an interesting point. Do the Houthis use their own ballistic missiles, or is that something they do via the iranian connection as well, perhaps? In the early stages of that war, we saw the Houthis using Tochkas, having looted those from governmental stores, but what about the rest?

Those later missiles do not look Russian or Chinese to me, and colour me sceptical about the Houthis and their claims of being a grand manufacturer of MRBMs/SRBMs

As far as I remember all missile attacks has been carried by Yemen military and its missile forces. All the attacks have been widely filmed by the Yemen armed forces and distributed to the media + used as PR stunt by Yemen Gov and its military.
Houthis and Yemen army share the same enemy, but that doesnt mean that they would handle SRBMs to a bunch of hillbillies and tribals. You dont learn how to operate properly and hit something with an SRBM, during a weekend or seeing a tutorial on YouTube. It takes years of training.

Cmon, Houthis dont even opérate tanks (prefering to burn down all captured trophies) they know that driving such a kit is a dead sentence taking into account Saudi uncontested air supremacy.
Anyone thinking that they would opérate SRBMs (with such a degree of efficiency taking into account the huge CEP), hide and drive around 15meter long TELs without retaliation from Saudi airforce, needs to think twice about the whole thing because the theory doesnt stand on its feet.

As per some intelligence reports, before the war Yemen Armed forces could muster between 300 to 500 SRBMs. Seems that they still have plenty to lob on the Saudis before requiring Iranian resupply.

I tell you, Yemen was a huge ammo depot, the wet dream of any wannabe Totalitarian, Warlord, Dictator or El Presidente.

I'll readily admit to being a blank slate when it comes to the intricacies of the Yemen-Saudi-Coalition war. What you say sounds absolutely plausible. The question then seems to be, what is the current disposition of the Yemeni national army? Whatever it is I hear about that conflict seems to revolve around clashes between the Saudi Coalition and small Houthi formations. Are there still Army units outside of any temporary alliances with either side?

Im going to share with you the thoughts on the matter coming from one Singaporean guy on the ground in Yemen.

"The Houthis have never known anything but war and conflict. All they have gained in power and wealth has been by means of violence. The Houthis will persist in fighting even until the Republic of #Yemen itself is destroyed and Yemenis are left with nothing but chaos.
War breeds wealth & power, and peace will be an overwhelming loss. This is the Houthi equation in Yemen.
There are significant implications for Yemen of this Houthi ethos:
1) Accepting peace will erode the power & wealth Houthis now hold
2) In contrast, waging war will expand the Houthi power base & their means of acquiring wealth
3) Even if Saudi Arabia & the UAE stopped the war in Yemen right now, the Houthi ethos will compel them to find another excuse to wage war, as in the past : fuel price increase, corruption, govt ineffectiveness, Al Qaeda presence, etc ad nauseaum.
4) The Houthi war of 2015 destroyed large parts of Aden city (ostensibly fighting Al Qaeda), but now by a complete suspension of reason & logic, the Houthis claim they want to "liberate Aden city & expel UAE/Saudi occupiers". Ergo, war is a must for Houthis, no matter why."

If you have a look at his twitter you Will usualy get good info on the conflict.

Houthis have been against Yemen armed forces in the past, fighting by their side in the past, again against them later on, and again by their side at the moment.
Yemen Army and Houthis fight against the same enemy when their interests are alligned. Then go at each others throath when they dont.
I recall that after the dead of Saleh, there were heavy clashes between Yemen military and Houthi militias. God knows at which point their interests are at the moment.
I used to follow this conflicto by the day up to the death of Saleh, but I slowly started to lost track on it after that.

Mohajer-6 combat drones join Iranian Army
Speaking at the ceremony, commander of drone unit at the Iranian Army Ground Forces, Brig. Gen. Hasannejad said the delivery of the Mohajer-6 combat drones would begin a new phase for an extensive use of drones in the Army Ground Forces’ operations.
“With the deployment of these unmanned aerial vehicles, any threat to the Iranian borders and even beyond the borders, will be identified, tracked down and removed before it could even take form,” Brig. Gen. Hasannejad stressed.
The drone has the capability to carry out surveillance and reconnaissance missions, and enjoys a wide operational range and wingspan with a high precision.
Other features, according to the commander of the drone unit, include “the ability to carry precision-guided projectiles, high tolerability in various weather conditions, and easy use in various geographical locations.”
Iran begun mass production of the indigenously-produced Mohajer-6 tactical and combat unmanned aerial vehicle back in February 2018.
Mohajer-6 is said to be the first UAV of the Mohajer family that is armed with a guided weapon system and is bigger than the other types of Mohajer family.

"Last week the government confirmed that the Royal Navy has been tasked to accompany British-flagged ships through the Strait, to provide reassurance to the shipping industry.

Royal Navy frigate HMS Montrose has already escorted 35 merchant vessels through the strait and will be succeeded by the Type 45 destroyer HMS Duncan...

HMS Duncan will now work with Type 23 frigate HMS Montrose until she comes off duty in late August for regular maintenance work. Another frigate, HMS Kent, and tanker RFA Wave Knight are scheduled to sail for the Strait of Hormuz in September."
