In all honesty it would neither surprise or shock me.

Dodgy politicians though here it’s supposedly with foreign aid. Caught with the hand in the jar eh?

Plenty of French politicians have been found guilty of tax fraud, stealing public money for their own leisure’s or homes etc. Not different anywhere else.
