Missiles on Mecca? If that's not just a PR stunt by the Saudis, I don't want to imagine what would have happened if they had e.g. hit the Sacred Mosque or even its surrounding quarters.

INS Magen, the first of four Israeli Navy Sa’ar 6 corvettes, has been officially named in Germany.
The ceremony took place at the thyssenkrupp Marine Systems yard in Kiel on May 23.
The ship was named by Eti Sharvit, wife of Vice Admiral Eli Sharvit, Chief of the Israeli Navy, in presence of high-level representatives from the Israeli government and Navy as well as high-ranking German Navy officials.
The three other units will be named Oz, Independence and Victory.
Construction of the new class of ships started with a keel-laying ceremony in February this year. The first ship is set for delivery in spring 2020 while all four ships are expected to be delivered by 2021.
“The corvettes are the most advanced and most sizeable vessels that ever served in the Israeli Navy,”Rolf Wirtz, CEO of thyssenkrupp Marine Systems, said at the ceremony. “With the final fitting out being conducted by Israeli industry, the ships will also largely contribute to the country’s economy.”
The contract for the delivery of four SA’AR 6 corvettes was signed in May 2015. TKMS noted that INS Magen was undocked 15 months after the first steel cut, meeting an ambitious schedule.
Measuring 90 meters in length and displacing around 2,000 tons, the corvettes will feature a high-trajectory anti-missile system and a high-trajectory shooting interceptor, close and far-reaching attack capability, long-term survivability, sea and air detection capabilities, and the ability to carry a Seahawk helicopter.
The ships will be equipped with the Naval Iron Dome, Barak 8, electronic warfare systems, cyber defense systems and means of detection and surveillance.

Included in the deal is weapon support and test equipment, spares, technical publications, personnel training, other training equipment, transportation, US Government and contractor engineering, technical and logistics support services, and other related elements of logistical and program support. A sale of Javelin Guided Missiles worth $102 million includes System Integration & Checkout (SICO) service, Field Service Representative, US Government and contractor technical, engineering and logistics support services’ tools and test equipment, support equipment, publications and technical documentation, spare and repair parts, and other related elements. Raytheon will be Prime contractor for this FMS.

The DoS also approved a possible FMS of RQ-21A Blackjack Unmanned Air Vehicles for an approximate cost of $80 million, which also includes 40 Global Positioning Systems (GPS) with Selective Availability Anti-Spoofing Module (SAASM) Type II (MPE-S), air vehicle support equipment including eight eight Ground Control Stations, four launchers, and four retrievers, spare and repair parts, publications, training, and technical support services. Members of Congress had actually been blocking sales of offensive military equipment to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates for months because of the huge civilian toll from their air campaign in Yemen, as well as human rights abuses such as the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi at a Saudi consulate in Turkey.
However, President Trump, declared a national emergency because of tensions with Iran in order to go through with the sale.

IRAN:
In a ceremony in Tehran, Defense Minister Amir Hatami unveiled the homegrown air defense system, dubbed “Khordad 15th”.
Developed by the Defense Ministry’s experts, it was formally delivered to the Air Defense Force of the Army.
In comments at the event, General Hatami said the new air defense system has been paired with the Sayyad-3 long-range missiles and is capable of detecting various targets, including warplanes and intruding drones, within a range of 150 kilometers and tracking them at a range of 120 kilometers.
According to the minister, the system can also detect stealth targets within a range of 85 kilometers and hit them in a range of 45 kilometers.
It is capable of intercepting 6 targets simultaneously, the minister said, adding that its ease of mobility would allow servicemen to prepare the air defense system for engagement in less than 5 minutes.
The general said that the air defense system is equipped with a phased array radar and independent launch pads and can effectively take action against various aerial targets, such as reconnaissance aircraft, bombers and tactical warplanes.
The minister went on to say that the Khordad 15th can be operated for shooting down targets at a maximum height of 27 kilometers and within a range of 75 kilometers.
Iranian military experts and technicians have in recent years made great headways in manufacturing a broad range of indigenous equipment, making the armed forces self-sufficient in the defense sphere.
Iran maintains that its military might poses no threat to regional countries, stressing that the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.

Seems that Saudi incompetence remains high at all times.
Houthis managed to lob a missile and hit Abha Airport.
Which happens to be well under the AD umbrella of Khamis Mushait the biggest Saudi Airforce base.

I remember back in the day, seeing photos and vids of the F117s operating out of that same base during Gulf War I. Thanks God, back then the AD was operated by US personnel.

"“The S-400 operated by Turkey will be capable of following any activity of the IAF over Syria, and that is a totally new situation,” one of the experts said."

Iran renews nuclear pact ultimatum amid tensions with U.S.
Iran will continue scaling back compliance with a nuclear deal unless other signatories to the pact show “positive signals”, the Iranian president said on Saturday as tensions with the United States escalated over tanker attacks in the Gulf region.

Iran stopped complying in May with some commitments in the 2015 nuclear deal that was agreed with global powers, after the United States unilaterally withdrew from the accord in 2018 and ratcheted up sanctions on Tehran.

“Obviously, Iran cannot stick to this agreement unilaterally,” President Hassan Rouhani told Russian, Chinese and other Asian leaders at a conference in Tajikistan.

His comments follow rising tensions with Washington, which has accused Tehran of carrying out Thursday’s attacks on two oil tankers in a vital oil shipping route at the mouth of the Gulf. Tehran has denied having any role.
Rouhani did not refer to this week’s tanker incident in his speech to the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia, behind held in the Tajik capital Dushanbe.
“It is necessary that all the sides of this agreement contribute to restoring it,” he said, adding that Iran needed to see “positive signals” from other signatories to the pact, which include Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany.

He did not give details on what actions Iran would take or say what positive signals Tehran wanted to see.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said Moscow would adhere to the agreement and urged other signatories to follow suit.
“We believe that the only sensible decision is for all deal participants to honour commitments,” Putin told the conference.

Tehran said in May that Iran would start enriching uranium at a higher level, unless world powers protected its economy from U.S. sanctions within 60 days.

Washington has ratcheted up pressure on Iran, saying it wants to prevent Tehran developing a nuclear bomb, rein in its ballistic missile programme and end what the it calls Iranian meddling in the Middle East.

Tehran has said its nuclear programme is peaceful and will not be stopped, says its missile work is for defence and accuses the United States of destabilising the region.

France and other European signatories to the nuclear deal that aimed to curb Iran’s nuclear work, have said they wanted to save the accord, but many of their companies have cancelled deals with Tehran, under pressure from the United States.

Turkey/Jordan:
According to local reports, Turkey wants to strengthen its defence cooperation with Jordan. The country wants to build more joint defence industries with Jordan.
Ismail Demir, head of the Turkish Defence Industries Directorate, expressed Ankara’s desire for an enhanced defence cooperation with Amman during a visit he made on Thursday to the King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau.
Turkish ties with Jordan are strong. The two countries signed more than 40 agreements and memorandums of understanding between them.
The enactment of the Free Trade Agreement and the Agreement on Visa Exemption in 2009 upgraded the level of relations. The Free Trade Agreement entered into force on March 2011.

ISRAEL AIR FORCE HOLDING LARGE-SCALE DRILL SIMULATING MULTI-FRONT WAR
The Israeli Air Force began a week-long drill on Sunday, simulating a multi-front war with all the platforms and squadrons, including for the first time the F-35i Adir stealth fighter jet.

The drill includes all aircraft from combat squadrons, helicopters and transport planes as well as troops from the Aerial Defense Division and the IAF control units.

“All of the air force is in the air,” a senior Israel Air Force officer – speaking on condition of anonymity – told reporters on Tuesday, adding: “The entire force is taking part in the drill, from the technical branch to the operational staff and the commanders, and the Air Force commander himself.”

Troops taking part in the drill “have to make hard decisions in real-time like during war.”

That's a $131million loss ;)

reports the US has sent nuclear capable bombers to the middle east ... a word of warning to America .... America nukes another country again it wont just be the end of NATO, you will be labelled international pariahs only America has used nuclear weapons in anger to do so a 3rd time will leave America very isolated and in effect the American economy might suffer in consequence and the UN will most likely move to a neutral country like Ireland or Switzerland

"Nuclear capable" has nothing in common with "nuclear armed", guaranteed they would be carrying cruise or PGM's, of which they can carry a prodigious amount, an example of which was the industrial strength bombing of the Iraqi army in Desert Storm

this was reported on Sky news yesterday ... a lot of people are angry this is a problem of America's own making you have false flag attacks on all tankers ... Iran isn't daft enough to attack tankers unless they are attacked first Persians are not Arabs

Sky news is reporting the attacks were false flag? Sure looked like Iranians in those Iranian speedboats to me.

1. Just because a plane has the capability to carry nuclear weapons does not mean it will do so.
2. The use of such weapons in WW2 was justified, the Allies perfected the weapon before the Nazis or Japanese managed to do it.
3. I do not see where any concrete evidence exists that the USA is planning to use such weapons against Iran.
4. Neutral country like "Ireland" that's a good joke, if such an event were to happen there already exists a UN HQ in Switzerland.

America states the right to reserve the use any weapon in it's arsenal and Trump has stated on several occasions that he'd wipe Iran out any land invasion of Iran would be extremely painful Iran is not Iraq the Ayatollahs may be bonkers but they haven't wiped out the experienced pilots unlike Saddam months before the gulf war

Japan was already on it's knees when the US dropped the two nukes

1. Every country in the world reserves the right to use what ever weapons it has in its arsenal.
2. Trump said this, Trump said that, is not a true indication such action will be taken.
3. I seriously doubt there would be a boots on the ground invasion of Iran, sanctions and just sitting back using cruise missiles, conventional strikes on selective targets would be quite effective by themselves.
4. With regards Japan being on its knees, they were not finished and I believe the proposed casualty figures of near a million men from invading and then fighting for every square inch of the Japanese homeland would not have been to far off the mark. It was the duty of Allied Commander to use anything that would lessen casualties for their side. Particularly when the enemy has divided its civil population into homeland defence sectors with units being ordered and taught to fight to the death with no surrender.
