As part of the international response to the volcanic eruption in Tonga, Japan has deployed Japan Air Self-Defense Force Lockheed C-130H Hercules and Kawasaki C-2 transport aircraft to move essential humanitarian assistance supplies from Japan to Tonga via RAAF Base Amberley in Queensland, Australia.
The contingent of Japan GSDF arrived in India to take part in 12 days long Exercise Dharma Guardian. The Joint Military Exercise will further enhance inter-operability and foster mutual understanding between the two Armies.
