INS Sarvekshak, Hydrographic Survey ship of the Indian Navy arrived at Port Louis, Mauritius on 26 Dec 24. The ship was received by Shri Anurag Srivastava, HCI Port Louis, Capt C G Binoop, Comdt Mauritius National Coastguard & other military & civil dignitaries. A preliminary survey coordination meeting was held with the Hydrographic Survey Unit of Mauritius. The visit highlights strong maritime partnership between then reflecting shared commitment to regional development & deeper bilateral cooperation in line with the vision of SAGAR.
The sea phase of SLINEX 2024 served as a platform for the Indian Navy & Sri Lanka Navy to engage in complex exercises demonstrating their expertise and cooperation in all aspects of maritime security. The exercise comprising a wide range of scenarios and tactical maneuvers was a testimony to enhancing interoperability between the two navies thereby fostering Maritime Cooperation & Maritime Partnership in the IOR, aligned with Gol's focus on SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region).
INS Tushil India's latest guided missile stealth frigate arrived in London, UK on 21 Dec 24 on her maiden passage to India marking a significant milestone in the growing naval cooperation between the Indian Navy & Royal Navy. The visit aims to strengthen bilateral ties and enhance exchange of best practices.
Responding to an emergency assistance request from UTL Administration, Indian Coast Guard District HQs Lakshadweep successfully conducted a medical evacuation of an 83-year-old male patient suffering from severe upper GI bleeding and anaemia. Patient was evacuated from Agatti Island to Kochi by ICG Dornier aircraft. The swift action, transporting the patient and escort from Agatti to Kochi, underscores continued ICG commitment & dedication towards ensuring safety and providing emergency connectivity to the Islanders.
Indian Coast Guard Ship Shaunak entered Yokohama, Japan today as part of its Overseas Deployment, enhancing international Maritime Cooperation and reaffirming India's commitment to global Maritime Security. The ship will also take part in the ICG -JCG joint exercise "Sahyog Kaijin" on 11 Jan 24.
In a mutual exchange of fishermen coordinated between Indian Coast Guard & Bangladesh Coast Guard, ICG Ships Varad & Amrit Kaur repatriated 95 Indian fishermen & 06 fishing boats, and handed over 90 Bangladeshi fishermen, including 12 rescued from the sunken boat โKaushik.โ
INS Mormugao along with aircraft from Indian Air Force participated in Indian Navy led Maritime Partnership Exercise with French Carrier Strike Group. The ships undertook complex maritime exercise including Joint Air Operations on the Western Seaboard. These professional interactions are a hallmark of strategic bilateral relationship and symbolise high degree of professionalism & interoperability between the navies.
On 04 Jan 25, a Malaysian-flagged sailing vessel BIT with five Chinese nationals onboard was reported to be running low on fuel. Subsequently, the sailing vessel transiting 225 nautical miles west of Indira Point, sought fueling assistance from Indian Navy through
IFC IOR. Responding swiftly, a surveillance aircraft was deployed to monitor the movement of sailing vessel and diverted mission deployed Indian Naval Ship Kirch to provide assistance. On 07 Jan 25, INS Kirch intercepted the vessel & provided 1000 litres of fuel, enabling the vessel to safely resume its voyage to its next port of call.
INS Tushil departed from Dakar on 06 Jan after a productive three day visit. The crew participated in professional activities, yoga sessions & social events. Vibrant Indian diaspora along with local populace visited Tushil and were given overview of the ship's capabilities including the state-of-the-art indigenous components. The visit concluded with a PASSEX held with the Senegalese ship PHM Niani.
The spectacular Op Demo at RK Beach, Visakhapatnam showcased the Indian Navyโs maritime prowess. Warships, Submarines, Aircraft, Commandos, Naval Band, SCC Cadets, Drill Contingent and Army elements, worked with clockwork precision to put up a show that would linger in the minds for a long time
Indian Air Force, swiftly deployed its aircraft to facilitate rescue operations at the site of the tragic mine collapse in Assam. An IAF C-130 airlifted IN divers with special equipment from Visakhapatnam to Kumbhirgram, from where they were immediately airlifted by a Mi-17 helicopter to the accident site at Umrangso, Assam.
Visakhapatnam class destroyer INS Surat (D69), Nilgiri class frigate INS Nilgiri (F33) and Scorpรจne class submarine INS Vaghsheer (S26) were commissioned on 15 Jan 2025
