Indian Coast Guard Ship on patrol off Kavaratti Island identified a vulnerable Olive Ridley turtle entangled in Ghost Nets. The turtle was successfully rescued and safely returned to the ocean. The Olive Ridley is a protected species under the Wildlife Act 1972. ICG remains committed to safeguarding these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat.

Furthering the Design & Development of the first indigenously developed Naval Anti Ship Missile, Indian Navy in association with
DRDO successfully undertook two more Release Flight Trials of the missile from Seaking 42B helicopter on 25 February 2025 from ITR, Balasore. The firing is a significant step towards realisation of the weapon and achieving self-reliance in niche missile technology.

INS Shardul and the Long Range Maritime Surveillance P8I aircraft arrived in Bali, Indonesia 🇮🇩 to participate in the Indonesian Navy International Fleet Review (IFR) 2025, a prestigious multinational naval event being reviewed by the Hon'ble President of Indonesia.
Following IFR 25, the Indian Navy platforms will also participate in Ex Komodo, a multilateral naval exercise aimed at enhancing maritime Interoperability and regional security cooperation. Indian Navy's regular participation reaffirms India's commitment to engage with regional Navies.

On completion of International Fleet Review 2025, INS Shardul entered port of Bali, Indonesia. The ship is participating in the 5th edition of Multilateral Naval Exercise (MNEK) KOMODO 2025. The crew took part in various activities of the Exercise including representing the Indian Navy at the International Maritime Security Symposium. Strengthening maritime cooperation through shared resolve and increased collaboration with regional Navies.

INS Gharial, an indigenous amphibious warship of the Eastern Sword Sunrise Fleet celebrates her 28th anniversary on 14 Feb 25. True to her motto ‘Always Ready’, the ship has been at the forefront of amphibious operations and has played a pivotal role in rendering humanitarian assistance & disaster relief both within India and overseas thereby promoting Indian Navy’s resolve as being the first responder in the IOR. Wishing Team Gharial, Happy Anniversary, continued success and glory in times ahead.

Aero India2025 witnessed a spectacular flypast which was marked by precision and accuracy. This edition of Aero India was marked by the maiden participation of the versatile MiG 29K fighter. The Fly-past on the inaugural day featured the all Navy ‘Varuna’ formation, consisting of P8I flanked by two MiG 29K and two Hawk 132 aircraft.

On this day in 1961, the Indian Air Force welcomed its first Antonov An-12B aircraft, marking a significant boost to its heavy airlift capabilities. This aircraft played a crucial role in airlifting army reinforcements during the 1962 Sino-Indian War and was later utilized as a heavy bomber during the 1971 India-Pakistan War. One of these historic An-12Bs is preserved at the Indian Air Force Museum at Palam, New Delhi.
