Exercise Lamitiye 2024
Indian Army will participate in a Joint Military Exercise with the Seychelles Defence Forces (SDF) from 18 to 27 March 2024 in Seychelles. The participating contingents will share experiences & develop interoperability during the military exercise to undertake joint operations. The integral craft onboard the ships were deployed to undertake various operations. Cross Deck helicopter operations were also undertaken between the ships of the Indian Navy and US Navy off Kakinada. The seamless conduct of multifaceted coordinated operations is an indicative of the joint planning and execution, reaffirming the high degree of interoperability between Armed Forces of the two nations.

Successful Anti-Piracy Operation by the Indian Navy. After successfully forcing surrender of the nine armed pirates , Indian Navy’s specialist teams have completed sanitisation & seaworthiness checks of FV Al-Kambar. The crew comprising 23 Pakistani nationals were given a thorough medical check up prior to clearing the boat to continue with her fishing activities. The pirates are being brought to India for further legal action in accordance with the Maritime Anti-Piracy Act of 2022.

In a swift sea-air coordinated operation, Indian Coast Guard evacuated a patient with suspected heart attack from Sri Lankan fishing vessel (SLFV) 'Kalpeni' about 100 NM from Chennai. The patient was evacuated by ICG ALH Mk-III helo deployed from ICG Air Station at Chennai.
