The German vice chancellor read the riot act a week ago.@IDF_TANKER and all,
Since you mentioned about the demonstration/protest against antisemitism in France, here’s the BBC article summing things up and for once relatively well:
French march against antisemitism shakes up far right and far left
Far-right leader Marine Le Pen takes part, alongside major parties but the far left refuses.www.bbc.com
The last bits and paragraphs are IMO the most interesting.
Basically that the far-left in France so Melenchon and his “France Unbowed” party have long given up on the working class French citizens to focus, on a purely electoral shenanigan to appeal to the suburbs in French major cities and a certain part of the electorate. No need to point finger you get it.
Whatever one think of Marine Le Pen, daughter of the infamous Jean-Marie and his dubious, tasteless cracks against Jews fourty years ago, his daughter and her party want to distance themselves from that.
I find pretty interesting someone like Serge Klarsfeld who spent his life chasing, prosecuting Nazis or French collaborators past the War while not endorsing the National Rally party approved of their presence at this protest, for the sake of unity in this country and beyond - on a continent threatened by a certain antisemitism which is not that of the brown shirts in the streets of Germany in 1936.
So what will the U.K. politicians do? Carry on telling everyone that they are special?
The met police was clearly yesterday happy to be robust with the white people, not so robust with people dressed as hamas etc. I get that numbers matter, but it is intimidating, and not just to Jews. Also why can’t they march at some showground in middle England?
