Warfare HAMAS attack on Israel, Oct 2023 & Iran’s Proxies.

Hopefully the Trump Administration is keeping this guy at arm's length, and if anything, will let the Iranian people decide their own fate if/when the time comes . . .
He's not just some guy, he's the rightful king of Iran. He doesn't want to be the supreme ruler like Khamenei is, he wants Iran to become what it was destined to be until the mullahs hijacked the revolution: A constitutional monarchy.

Well, I certainly did not intend to foment a tangential discourse on the legitimacy of the self-proclaimed "royal" Pahlavi family in this thread. Nor did I seek to debate the efficacy of whether or not the mullahs "hijacked the revolution" (which I recall they were heavily invested in). My apologies to all, so I will gracefully bow out. However, if Vorph or someone else is that interested in the debate and starts up another thread, LMK . . .

There is the ideological factor, yes.

But also the practical one. If they were forced to run away, where would they go?

And to do what?

Religious leaders don't live well in exile. Their entire life and "raison d'être" is articulated around their religious beliefs. A religious leader who does not preach is worthless.

Saudi-Arabia getting even for Yemen.

"This is huge if true"

Yeah... file that under BS until anything appears to prove it otherwise.

If anything that's clickbait and engagement farming.

I wasn't trying to be confrontational, apologies if it came across like that.

History is as ever complicated, the revolution was initiated by communists and socialists who wished to end the monarchy because the Shah (Reza Pahlavi Sr) had become a tyrant. It turned into a country wide popular uprising to remove him from power which was then as I said basically hijacked by the islamist followers of Khomeinei who had been in exile in France until the revolution allowed him to return and eventually take control of Iran.

Lots more to this but his son (Reza Pahlavi Jr) is the crown prince to what was the "real Iran", thus making him the rightful heir to the throne.

I'd suggest Iran would need to have a vote on that, and even though I live in a constitutional monarchy, if you were setting one up now, you would include the ability to remove the monarch, at least on the passing of the previous one.

He isn't his father, he recognises how bad the Shah was. He's highly liked by Irainians who oppose the regime of which there are many. His position is that it's up to the people to decide what direction the country goes in.

Who's going to join Israel, except for maybe Saudi Arabia?

I'm getting a bit nervous about other powers also jumping in.... What happens if another nuclear power comes in on the side of Iran?

Western media: Iran is innocent! This war is a violation of international law! Iran isn't a threat to anyone!

Meanwhile Iran says:

There should be so incredibly much to gain from such a move to make it worthwhile, that it seems pretty unlikely that anyone would care of the mullahs so much. The usual suspects must have seen the writing on the wall and pretty much have their plates full at the moment or are in such of a happy place that backing a failing regime with more than thoughts and positive vibes would yield any concrete benefits.

That being said, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see some bits of Iranian nuclear/rocket tech/marine build know how to appear in the bestests of Koreas. Can't think of too many other places to have any particular need for such stuff, unless some random country in Africa wants to have a go..
