Today is different for South Korea, pre Korean war the US and allies refused to supply weapons for defense to South Korea with the excuse they were afraid the South would start a War. !!! The US sent Troops from Hawai without weapons and cold winter clothes it was a major cluster you know what. Today the South is in a much better position to defend themselves, not much they can do to deter artillery fire however they do have a large Tank Trap to keep out North Korean Armor. The war planners for the NATO countries that would react to another invasion have listed 5000 cruise missiles for the opening salvo from various units on station already. That race track of long range artillery the North has would be target number one or very near the top of the list. It would be very big air assault and less armor I believe. There wouldn't be any air resources sent in until all the Norths radars were dead. North has no idea what awaits them should they get froggy, which I don't think the great leader wants to loose his rice bowl. On the other hand ignorant people do ignorant things. There is a very extensive list of targets already mapped should they try something.
I read about the Norths inferior artillery rounds being so out of spec that Russia recently stopped using them. Short rounds and no precise information for the ammo. I guess they never heard of LOT numbers, in Vietnam we were always getting destroy notifications of bad ammo, usually always over packed and the cap end would blow back into your face. The M75 40mm was not without the same problems of catching a small tiny fragment in your face or cheek, I had one crew chief that can confirm that. Even the nose mounted Honeywell's occasionally had their problems too, stuffing a fresh round into a left over casing. Our minis would start leaving a live round after a little use due to bad ammo leaving a casing without the cap end. I was on my airfield almost 3 years and saw 3 pilots killed accidentally stepping out of their ships while the crew chief or gunner was spinning a barrel to clear it. The mini was supposed to self clear and too many people had not been schooled enough to know better than to spin the barrels with the bolts still locked. Bird dog coming in for a landing and accidentally tapping off two zuni s onto the runway, scares the S**t out of you if you're out there on the ramp. ;0)

We had a missile crewman at my site named Eddie, he was making a beer run and had a bad wreck on the old country road to the base, he lost one eye but the Army let him recoup and continue his duty. We all started calling him 1 eyed Eddie, but we never let him do the beer run again. You want your best man to do that, well that and the mail pickup at the town square in Alvarado Post Office since we had no mail delivery at the base it being a restricted entrance site. I often wonder about all those guys and how many are living. As for this Hamas turd they can call him stumpy.They can use that picture for his obituary.
