Simon Weston of the Welsh Guards. He was burned over 46% of his body when RFA Sir Galahad was bombed and set afire near Fitzroy. Out of his platoon of 30 men, 22 were killed. The Welsh Guards lost a total of 48 men killed and 97 wounded aboard Sir Galahad.

She carries the latest satcom equipment, landing craft and Amphibious Landing Force commander, Commodore Mike Clapp. The Landing Platform Docks Fearless & Intrepid were to prove priceless in the war to come. April 6th 1982

Royal Marines Mountain and Arctic Warfare Cadre (of which Capt Nicholls belonged) and 148 Battery carried AR-15/M16 rifles during the Falklands War.
