Preparations are underway for the Armed Forces of the Philippines Founding Anniversary Celebrations as the AFP display their assets at AFP GHQ in Camp Aguinaldo.
And with all the new and old equipment the AFP is displaying, one has to look for "Mt. Apo" and "Kamagong" - which is the names painted on the Pindad-FNSS Harimau medium tank and Pindad Anoa wheeled APC.
Both vehicles arrived with Indonesian Army paint scheme. And now they are painted in the new Philippine Army green scheme which begs the question: are these vehicles donated already by PT Pindad to the Philippine Army to go around the procurement rules wherein the vehicles should be in service with the country of origin or at least two other countries?
If the Philippines accepts the vehicles and commissions them, technically Pindad only needs one more country to do the same move. So far Bangladesh and Brunei are interested jn the Harimau too, while the Anoa is in service with the Indonesian Army so its not affected by the procurement rules.

Exclusive @ MaxDefense Philippines:
French shipbuilder OCEA has handed-over the 83.6m long OPV-270 offshore patrol vessel it built for the Philippine Coast Guard, the Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301) to the Philippine Coast Guard yesterday 18 December 2019.
It still doesn't use the prefix BRP since it is not yet commissioned with the PCG, which will happen in the Philippines after it arrives and further inspections are done.
It is expected to sail for the Philippines before the end of the year and arrive in Manila by February 2020. Obviously, they were not able to handover the ship earlier as planned last October although MaxDefense has no information yet on why the schedule changed.
Once commissioned, the ship would be the PCG's flagship and biggest ship until the Japanese 94m ships are built and commissioned.

Rest in peace, CORPORAL ROMNICK ESTACIO of the 62nd Marine Company, Marine Reconnaisance Group, Philippine Marine Corps.
Corporal Estacio died a hero today, December 22, 2019, in an encounter against the Abu Sayyaf Group in Panamao, Sulu while rescuing two Indonesian captives and a Filipino.This is so sad at a time of cheers and merrymaking, but I am certain the Lord will welcome in His bosom this soldier who made the ultimate sarifice, a good husband and father of two.
Corporal Romnick Estacio would also be welcomed by his brother in heaven, PFC Jethro Fil Estacio of the 1st Scout Ranger Company, 1st Scout Ranger Battalion, who went ahead of him. Jethro, a Marawi hero, and of SR Class 200, perished on October 14, 2017. Both Romnick and his younger brother Jethro fought in Marawi. Indeed, they are family of heroes.
Another brother, 2Lt Jordan Estacio, a platoon leader at the Light Reconnaissance Regiment, is gallantly serving the country. He will continue the legacy of bravery and service of his kuyas.
Deepest condolences to Corporal Estacio's wife and classmate, Corporal Marijoe Ornedo Estacio of MBLT 10, to his son and daughter, and to rest of the Estacio family in Ifugao.

WOW, that's so sad, 2 brothers and at this time of year-Christmas to lose someone!! God Bless them both and their wife's & children and especially their mother and father who have now lost two sons, one at Christmas to war and mayhem on the beautiful islands of the Philippines! ??

BRP Cape Engaño, in her final sea trials before handover 2018
(Multi-role Response Vessels) MRRV-4411"BRP Cape Engaño" the last of the 10 "Parola (Lighthouse) class" MRRV's which was commissioned back at Aug. 2018.
The Parola class are a development of the Bizan-class patrol vessels of the Japan Coast Guard.
The ships are designed for law enforcement, maritime security/patrol and humanitarian/environmental assistance.
So far the ships armaments are mostly mounted 2x .50cals, with the lead ship receiving a forward mounted .50cal RCWS made by Elbit Systems.
