Yes, PAF upgraded our remaining OV-10As to OV-10M (Modernized) which includes 4 propeller blades on each engines and updated avionics.

I don't know the price for the Ginuntings for abroad.

OK so the contract will most certainly lead to Leo 2 based bridge layers. Going by PI's history in procurement that means they will get a Chinese MBT if any at all ? ?

How do I apply to manage the Philipines money? as $27M for 2 tanks with a bridge on top is not good value......

The chassis will be the Leopard as what some have mentioned but theres also a chance it would be with an Israeli one.

Judging from how much the Israelis have been winning the the PA contracts... Iwouldbt be surprised if we ended up with a Merkava as the MBT.

Who said we will use this against the big bad Panda up north? this is part of our continuing training and modernization plus the fact we have limited budget. We never operated any AAVLB in our history, and this thing helps improve the capability of our Engineering units. A milestone for us, a nuisance for foreign observers. Who said we will end up with two units only?

Mate I didn't say there would only be 2 units, I posted that the bridge layer will most certainly be based on the Leo 2 chassis. And I didn't say they would be used up north with everyone's friendly Chicoms....I was joking that having bought a western bridge layer then a future tank will come from China.....it's all good mate!

From my friends a few years ago... the PA will have an MBT down the line, but before that it plans to develop the heavy engineering brigade first. Given that they accelerated this, it would mean that the MBT are coming. so just some clarification before you all go killing each other.

- the unit ordered of 2 came from max defense, but it doesnt necessarily mean just two. It was speculation.
- Maxdefense mentioned the leo2, but again there is no concrete basis that it would be the leo2, it is just base on his sources. Most of his sources are in the DND and not the specific branches.

-Israel won the bid, so if ever the Merkava might just get a chance.
- the Philippines never bought big ticket items from the Eastern block, so if ever someone ill steal the contract it would be either SoKor or Japan.

I'm putting my money on SK, they have good gear at good price point (and they already own certain members of the DoD)

The Army are the smart bunch, its the Navy thats just corrupt and knuckle draggers. The Army will get what they want.

- The Navy doesnt even know how to buy warships and went with consultants. These have no plans to fight wars and just to get stars, so their thinking is logistics ships, so they can look good in disasters

- Air force is smarter and better than the Navy but suffered some brain drain, so slowly getting back to its feet

- The Army has been on the killing game ever since, and the game has been good for it. They have had plans and include equipment inot currently available for the PA ever since in anticipation of getting them and continiously studied tech. hence the missile Arm an now the armor can quickly be stood up.

If there is ever something that can hurt the enemy it will come from the Army not the other two.
