Qatar team in Kabul for restart of 'airport ops'

A Qatari aircraft landed in Kabul Wednesday carrying a technical team to discuss the resumption of airport operations after the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan, according to a source with knowledge of the matter.

"A Qatari jet carrying a technical team has landed in Kabul earlier today to discuss the resumption of operations in the airport," the source told AFP.

"While no final agreement has been reached regarding providing technical assistance, Qatar's technical team has initiated this discussion based on the other side's request.

"Talks are still ongoing at the level of security and operation."

The source said the goal was to resume flights for both humanitarian aid and to provide freedom of movement, including the resumption of evacuation efforts.

Arab media on Twitter cited a Taliban spokesman as saying they had "officially asked Qatar to help with managing the airport as soon as possible".

Qatar or Turkey?
“There are ongoing talks with the Qataris and the Turks about the management of the airport,” French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian explained on Tuesday. France 2. The objective, he said, is a reopening that complies with the United Nations Security Council resolution approved on the night of Monday to Tuesday with 13 votes in favor and the abstention of Russia and China. The UN body requested that the airport open “quickly and safely” to allow those who so wish to leave the country.

We’re all in despair witnessing from our western homes what’s happening there. I’d rather take a few thousands Afghans who have actually worked and helped US and NATO than leave them to their fate.
Yeah, IF they actually helped. In less than two weeks time the Dutch government has received e-mails from over 13,000 Afghans*1 claiming they worked for the Dutch armed forces. Our main deployment lasted four years and consisted between 1-2,000 troops at any given time. No way in hell did 13,000 Afghans ever work for us even indirectly during that time unless you count shopkeepers in towns, people sweeping the street etc.

And the worst thing is that if they manage to travel to the EU they'll get to stay even if their story is complete rubbish and their behaviour criminal and abhorrent. During the Syrian refugee crisis the immigrations dept. was completely swamped and they didn't get around to doing even a basic examination of whether or not these people actually came from where they claimed or what their background was (including known war criminals!). Political interference ensured that the process was curtailed and frustrated even further because of the "refugees welcome" crowd overlapping flawlessly with leftist political parties in power wanting every single future voter to feel indebted to them.

I have no problem with Afghans that actually helped, but unless people that were there can vouch for them on an individual basis they should, as a group, imo not be welcomed with open arms.

Around 2,400 people were evacuated that made claims about having worked for the Dutch government and had paperwork processed either at the embassy or at KBL meaning it's fairly safe to say they at some point worked for us and are at actual risk. A lot of those 2,400 are helpers along with their families. That might be what 1,200 helpers to 240 depending on if they have children and if so how many. Just the spouses to spouse + 9 children. Either way that is miles and miles off of 13,000 claiming to be helpers along with tens of thousands of dependents.

This crisis like all those before it will be used to bring in people that do not deserve to be here because we do not owe them anything since they had no connection to the Dutch government and/or to the country they claim to be from.

*1 A lot of Moroccan, Algerian and Tunisian economic migrants have tried to obtain refugee status by claiming to be Syrian. Because their parent nations refuse to take them back we're stuck with them. These are virtually all young men who commit (violent) crimes at an exorbitantly high rate. Scum of the earth. A child can figure out that the same trick will be played by people pretending to be Afghan.
Tell them it's "vintage" and that's it's all about "fashion".
If you hang onto something for long enough it's bound to make a comeback sooner or later ...

Where would a CH-46 fly to? Pakistan? Tajikastan?
Haven't heard where they actually went to but Islamabad, Pakistan is maybe a 1 1/2 hr flight. Over the mountains though so would have to be under loaded, helicopters hate thin air at altitude. US has real tight [$$$$$] relations with Pakistan. There is a waypoint for refugees there, they even uped their landing fees for this special occasion.

Just remember about some famous Afghan customs.

The taliban put homosexuals to death, a painful death. But they take great pride in owning sex slave little boys & have huge manlove thursday parties where they sit around in leopard print thongs f'n their buddies. I've asked macho Afghan commandos about it over the years & they just matter of factly say as long as you don't love the other guy it's not gay. I guess if it was good enuf for mohammed it's good enuf for them. They also think all women are unclean & it's their duty to procreate to make more muslims.

Your funeral, boys.
It's a common thing nowadays to see people from my eastern European entourage visiting western Europe and coming back deeply disappointed, with the amount of weird people, migrants, and piss they smell on your streets. But I'm sure the Matriarchic reflexes that have been deeply engraved into you by your modern culture and media will lead you to a brighter future, where streets are ruled by a foreign culture, births are ruled by a foreign genome, and politics are ruled by the religion of peace.
You know, it's psychologically easy to jump on the bandwagon of agreeableness and generosity in your current political environment, because you have the government on your side in this, and the brainwashed social media will give you social credit points for it. It's the absolute feminine path to take in political contexts. But it's profoundly hard and risky to actually take a stand for the future of your nation and do or say what many will deem "immoral".

Although I'm no position to lecture the west on this, because its their land, and its their funeral. For as far as I'm concerned, the western civilization isn't dying. It's already dead. Everything else from this point onwards is just me watching a terminal cancer patient on his deathbed shoving a pack of cigarettes down his throat.
What rock did you slither out off? Jesus. You actually made the Afghans mentioned below seem closer to be living in the same century as the rest of the real world

The New York Times has published a large investigation into the two CIA bases in Kabul, which were used to evacuate the Americans in August, and their fate.

Being honest, haven't mentioned this anywhere else on the forum but my Dad passed away at the end of July. My mum texted my brother and I last week asking if we thought he'd have liked his clothes to go to Afghan refugees that will inevitably end up in Coventry (Nearest big city).

Abso-***king-lutely he would. Have already sorted them out and we'll be delivering them soon.

Not going to lie though, there's some fairly horrific old-man fashion choices for some poor bastard to receive.

I'm sorry to hear about your Dad, mine died suddenly in Nov 19 and it hit me hard.

To be fair they left that credibility in Iraq and in Syria, this was just a retreat. Again, on this one I actually dont see this as US fault or anything against them. The pillar that they were betting on capitulated in a matter of weeks. The only solution was to reinvade it so the US can pullout a retreat that would be half way decent. 300K Afghans surrendered against 60K goat shaggers... in a few weeks wuddathunk?!

Now I would have been worried and lost my belief in American leaders had day capitulated and reinvaded Afghanistan, just to save face. Thats some Asian state dick move.

It is reported from Kabul that the Taliban have again begun targeted checks and targeted arrests. First of all, they are looking for immigrants from Panjshir.

The taliban martyr brigade parade showing continuously this morning on Al Hurat the National TV of Afghanistan showing the captured enemy equipment to be made into vest bombs, barrel bombs, car bombs & purse [new this week] bombs. Coming to a neighborhood near all infidels. Crikey, just when you thought it couldn't get any worse......A few flights continue with a vehicle express lane onto KBL airport for select "friends" & permit, cell phone sketchy but sat phones working. Rolling blackouts. May take awhile to get the Country stitched back together. People not showing up to work. Shops closed, Food & gas hard to get.
