I think only 3 CH-46s remain in the US State Dept hanger @ KBL that were deactivated & deregistered for future part orders. They originally had 7 so hopefully 4 were flown out with a boatload of Embassy staff onboard. Beautiful aircraft, very stable. In reference to all helicopters & fixed wing aircraft, when you place a parts order the manufacturer requires the serial # since vendors can change during the model year. All the serial #'s to any left behind US/ANA equipment have been deregistered with their respective manufacturers so getting parts for the taliban or anyone they sell them too is gonna be a huge problem. Although, maybe Amazon will start stocking pieces parts one day if there is a buck to be made. The ANA had some good pilots that are working for the taliban, a paycheck is a paycheck. All maintenance had to go to a 3rd party contractor. The ANA just couldn't handle it.
