Yes, so with limited resources one theater get lean and mean, while the other is bloated and lazy in finding ways. As much as we hate some of our enemies, I dont think the population will welcome an A-10 brrrrrting over Basilan island anytime soon.Due to the size of the mission in the Middle East and North Africa the USSOCOM presence has been far larger for a long time than it will ever have been in the Philippines. The number of personnel and available assets is so much larger that I can imagine that things become routine. Every problem starts to look like a nail so you use the same hammer. I can recall concerns coming out of Special Forces Groups about the types of missions they were conducting which was almost exclusively just the one: Direct Action.
No thought process other than do we hit it with a drone/air strike, with special forces or both?
Smaller numbers mean more ingenuity is required. Whether that's due to a theatre being seen as secondary, because nations have limited numbers to work with, or do not have the transports available to move them into position rapidly enough.
This shows that there is more sophistication in the Taliban mindset, if they know how to act and make deals with Americans. They remain the victors and allow the Americans to pull out with out the us of B52sThe deal with the taliban is no American soldiers outside KBL. Pretty sure the taliban are afraid of their soldiers that kicked their ass for 20 years. Rightly so Americans don't want to screw up the thin ice agreement. Denmark, French, Germany have all offered to pick up Americans, we have a good system that works with good safe meeting places. There are no taliban or crowds @ any embassy this morning. Communications are still working & everyone outside are kept up to speed on conditions. Overflights continue just in case but things are kinda sketchy.....& 2 more weeks of this is gonna be ruff on people.
