He barely knew his father. Massoud Sr died when he was 11 or something and prior to that he mainly lived outside of Afganistan. Its funny to watch how he is trying to play national hero now whereas there is no real succession between the two.
I think that's your opinion. Massoud was a legend. I can very well see his clan following the son.

Biden cancelled Trump's emergency evacuation plan in June.

You couldnt win this War, you cant lose it in decent way either. Guys why dont you just get lost? Please, instead of creating more turmoil...
We're talking about Massoud here. He is a local, leading a clan that you obviously have a problem with.

Personally, once Bin Laden was shot in the face while hiding in his bedroom, I could care less about Afghanistan. Now the CCP gets to deal with it, using slave labor to mine Lithium, for all the batteries in electric cars the Globalists have promised them.

One of the main failures is to still have 15000 Americans in Afghanistan who are not military. If these numbers are correct, what was going on in the minds of the Biden administration. And who are they? Contractors? Security operators? Were they asked to stay bt their bosses? Voluntarily basis? What are 15000 people doing in a country where the evac date has been set since a year.

I'm pretty sure US troops could make an extract (they would'nt blabber about it before though) but getting 15000 people is different than picking up 500.

As for the Afghans, if some people have a green card, why are they still in Afghanistan on their own and were not already under protective cover in Bagram before the evac...Unfortunately, deep down, we all know we won' t be able to get all the good guys who helped us out.

Well they sure know how to retreat.

aww come on, nobody here thought of saying it?!
The French military came prepared right down to soldiers with beards, head dress, taliban dress & they're going in & getting their people from the surrounding villages & bringing them back for the flights to Doha. Spain's doing it just like we are. Not sure why the American's are not. The secure perimeter of KBL is nothing but a kill zone patrolled by gangs of taliban thugs. There will be American hostages [Tehran 1979] before this os over

The memories of the Turkish journalist who interviewed Shah Mesud in 1983 are in this video. It has English subtitles. I also agree with your comment.

Dutch veterans associations are reporting about Afghan translators and higher level security personnel that worked for the government and NGOs whose VISA process was stalled for four years or more by political interference by members of the government and civil servants being too lazy to do their jobs with ample warning have been given, but the same politicians who are now calling for a "broad acceptance" of Afghan refugees were the same ones that were keeping them stuck in Afghanistan for years without any aid. Pure hypocrisy to score brownie points with future voters. I hope they don't forget who let them be at risk for all that time.

Another catastrophe the Creepy Uncle was involved in, but doesn't get the credit he deserves for as yet another abysmal failure.

Basically, immigration is' nt popular, even for stand-up people. Deep down, our politicians were hoping they would have a year or more, and that maybe the talis would have negociated with the governent and that things would not have gone that "cut throat" for our guys.

6 of 23 remaining Georgian security contractors employed by Canadian and American companies, were safely returned with a Hungarian plane yesterday. According to where I got the image from, situation was so bad they were practicaly jumping to different locations every minute.
Turkey reportedly offered to provide an armored convoy after they were unable to reach the airport and catch a lift by Ukrainians, but didn't arrive yet.

Update: two more, working for a British company were evaced today to a NATO base in Germany.
It seems early estimates by the Geo gov were dramaticaly off. There are a total of 150 Geo contractors ( not all of them security ) still stuck near Kabul, awaiting a lift.

Everybody has ties with everybody.

Even Bin Laden had ties with the West.

Even USSR had ties with the US during WW2.

Even France had ties with the USSR during WW2

Do anyone really think that If massoud was alive then 911 wouldn't happened

Pretty much everywhere frankly.

And with all the stuff that has been left behind and/or abandoned by the ANA, it is not as if anybody needed anything.

It would have happened anyway, but with Massoud alive the routing of the Taliban, Haqqani network, etc... would have probably gone faster.
With Massoud gone, the Northern Alliance was headless. He, to some extent, was the knot that tied the opposition together.
