Commandant Rivière-class frigate Amiral Charner (F 727) Photo from mid 70s or later as the aft superfiring 100mm turret has been replaced by 4 Exocet. She was later transferred to Uruguay in 1991 and renamed Montevideo. The ship was scrapped in 2016.

The destroyer “Almirante Valdés” (D-23) suffered another collision during the spring of 1981 against the west dock of the port of Palma de Mallorca. Here we see it already in the dry dock of the Empresa Nacional Bazán shipyard in Cartagena where it entered by its own means to carry out repairs. It has been said that the incident was due to a failure in the telegraph transmission of orders to the machine during the maneuver.

Between 1961 and 1996, the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) operated 13 S-2A (P-16A) and 8 S-2E (P-16E) aircraft. Between June 22, 1965 and August 13, 1996, the 1st Embarked Aviation Group recorded 1,382 days at sea with its aircraft, having made 14,072 daytime landings and 2,674 nighttime landings aboard the Brazilian Navy Light Aircraft Ship Minas Gerais A11 ( class Essex).

The P-16s were retired in 1996 and maritime patrol and anti-submarine warfare activities were taken over by the P-95 Bandeirante Patrulha and P-3AM Orion aircraft, both based on land.
