Members of Battle Group Ram tested their readiness to deal with a civilian community on Exercise Ever Ready Ram in Lismore. The exercise included patrolling through the community, urban operations on the un-used campus of Trinity College St Joseph and interacting with role-players.
It enhanced Battle Group Ram’s readiness to respond to short-notice Australian Government tasks by rehearsing a rapid deployment into an area of operation, with the battle group loading and unloading Army Bushmaster protected mobility vehicles and troops on a RAAF C-17A Globemaster from No. 36 Squadron. Soldiers from Combat Team Shrike, conducted a range of activities as part of Exercise Rhino Run in the Cultana Training Area, South Australia.
The combat team is made up of infantry and combat engineers from 10th/27th Battalion, The Royal South Australia Regiment, supported by tank and personnel carriers from 1st Armoured Regiment.
Combined arms teams from across the Brigade conducted a series of complex live and dry fire manoeuvres culminating in a combined arms breach and assault through a trench system.

Soldiers from across the 2nd Division undertook a Direct Fire Support Weapons course where they received training on MAG 58 Machine Guns, the 84mm Medium Direct Fire Support Weapon and Javelin Weapon System. The course supported the Land Combat Capability Review and aided in developing a new capability across the Division.
