On Tuesday, August 8 this year, the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ - Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa) announced that it was established in May this year. PGZ Serwis Orel deals with repairing and servicing ex-Polish 155-mm howitzers AHS "Krab" in Ukraine. Polish and Ukrainian mechanics of the PGZ Serwis Orel company perform their work in direct contact with the front line in an undisclosed location for security reasons. In addition, PGZ trained about 100 Ukrainian soldiers at Huta Stalowa Wola (HSW) so that they could independently perform basic maintenance and service activities. This applies to the service of several dozen 155-mm AHS Krab self-propelled howitzers in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, delivered by Poland last year (the government handed over at least 18 guns, while Ukraine ordered 54 more - according to reports, already delivered).PGZ Serwis Orel performs works in mobile field workshops and companies of the Ukrainian defense industry, respectively simpler and complex ones. The employees were trained by the Ukrainian services on the principles of behavior in the area of the front line. They have experience in working in combat conditions, as Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa employs a total of over 130 people who have performed and still perform work for the Polish Army in Afghanistan, Chad, Romania and Latvia. HSW also provides ongoing training support for Ukrainian artillerymen.
