Warfare HAMAS attack on Israel, Oct 2023 & Iran’s Proxies.

Can you share the source on support?

I was thinking the whole time why people are not in the streets in Tehran.

But than i thought that:
- No one likes war, and "supporting" Israel is at least kinda weird for Iranians.
- Last time they protested, several got in prison and other ones died. You got tired of that after a while.

There also is the fact the popular protests against the regime receive very little to no support from outside.

The West isn't backing these movements, they barely talk about them or engage in meaningful process to further the cause.

Each and every time protests take place, they get repressed. The regime cracks down on them, arrest people en masse, kill them or have them disappear.
Same goes with everything related to women's rights, gay rights and such... usually the West takes great interest in these things. But with Iran? Nope, nothing. A few timid mumbles of indignation, one or two editorials published in some newspaper, and that's it; "we did our part".
Upwards of 75% of Iranians live in urban areas which are also the most heavily bombed. Starting a revolt while bombs are dropping all around you isn't that simple. There would have to be close coordination, but Trump obviously didn't want this. He was against the regime change the entire time except for the one post after which the Iranians came to the negotiations table soon afterwards, so likely the post was merely means to pressure the regime.

Media and politicians in western Europe do not view the oppression of the Iranian regime as a major issue since it is actively fighting the real threat, the evil country of Israel; the regime serves their purpose. Assets get a pass.

Considering how the various attempts at "regime change" have been going... yeah, I can imagine he does not want one in Iran.

Not in, what has been made, the "conventional" way.

Regime change, yes, but only if it does not require foreign intervention. Non-organic regime-changes don't work, and can't work.

But as you said earlier regime change needs a nudge, and it sounds like he's categorically against regime change of any kind.

Donald is'nt very happy with Iran nor Israel

About regime change: there are 92 million people in Iran. 92 million people who have a strong national feeling, 92 million people who despite the mullah regime fought and beat Irak.

Saw the video of President Trump getting visibly angry at both sides via reddit, then at the end got annoyed with myself for being fooled by something that was clearly AI generated because I've never seen him lose his cool to the point of public profanity. Then saw every news channel in the world was actually covering it so it was not in fact AI.

It's already hard enough distinguishing fake cray cray from real cray cray these days without the added factor of mentally unstable people being elected just for lulz.

Reactions: Gaz
Trump pushed for the cease-fire no doubt so he could enter the NATO summit as The Great Peacemaker. It's all about his ego.

Just like the presidents before him he's only thinking about his own term in office and not the long term implications of their policies.

Pure speculation from my part but my feeling is that the Trump administration does not get on that well with the Netanyahu administration. I posted earlier in this thread before the strike on Iran some odd behaviors that did not seem to me very "Israeli friendly".

The strike on the iranian nuclear capacity happened, with Israel clearing the path, but that was not just a request from Israel but from the Gulf states as well. And there are hints the Iranians were warned: with not enough time to remove anything significant but maybe to remove personnel and avoid casualties.

For years, Israel has done everything possible to get the US to go to war with Iran. Obviously, I understand why. Israel First. But Trump is America First. His one goal was to stop Iran's nuclear program. That has been done or at least delayed for years or decades.

Now we're on to regime change. Notwithstanding what most of you guys think, Trump is too smart for that. If the Iranian people want change, they should get it. The US doesn't want to be responsible for a 93 million person Libya.

I said earlier in the thread that it would be complicated. Here he managed stick and carrot with Iran. Very well done

I wish there was some stick with Russia too but who knows.

He cleaned a little bit his TACO reputation as he actually went through with what he said

I think the conditions are right now, for the Iranian people to take back their country. But it should be up to them. I am on the same page with Trump on this, "you break it, you buy it".
