Roger Waters has cancelled his concerts in Krakow after the local council was due to vote on a motion to declare him a person of undesirable interest in the city for his comments on the Russian-Ukrainian war.
Waters was due to perform twice at the Tauron Arena in April, but the musician's manager cancelled the concerts without giving any reason.
Waters had earlier written an open letter to the Ukrainian president's wife Olena Zelenska, saying that extreme nationalists in Ukraine had set the country on the path to war. The musician also criticised Western countries for supporting Ukraine with arms.
According to the Polish press, the Krakow city council was preparing to hold a vote on whether to allow Waters to enter the city at all because of his outrageous rhetoric in an open letter.
Roger Waters will also perform in Budapest in spring 2023. The concert will take place on 23 April at the MVM Dome, and he was due to arrive from Krakow.
The 40-stop concert tour, This Is Not A Drill, kicks off in Lisbon on 17 March and will visit 14 countries. The concert will feature 20 songs by Pink Floyd and Roger Waters, including Us & Them, Comfortably Numb, Wish You Were Here and Is This The Life We Really Want?, as well as the debut of Roger Waters' brand new composition The Bar.
