Forgive me if there's a really obvious answer to this that I'm missing, but does anyone know why an F-35 is assigned to what sounds like a V-22 squadron?
 
Forgive me if there's a really obvious answer to this that I'm missing, but does anyone know why an F-35 is assigned to what sounds like a V-22 squadron?

The F-35Bs are assigned to Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 121. However a detachment of 6-10 F-35Bs are assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265 (Reinforced) when deployed aboard USS Wasp.
