Considering the Number and size of the Ukrainian ships that the Russian Navy holds at the moment Russia has a more powerful Ukrainian Navy than Ukraine has...
Ships of the Ukrainian Navy that the Russians captured in Sevastopol
^^Looking pretty sad and neglected, should never have been given up....if no other option their crews should have scuttled them to avoid being taken
Well a lot of the ships like the ropucha class landing ship were disabled by their ukrainian crew before being taken. A Minesweeper tried to escape and go around the ship that was scuttled in the bay but couldn't and was stopped by speedboats and an attack helicopter. the crew disabled her. also some planes fled to mainland. I also strongly believe that some disloyal ukrainian sailors were bribed before. the command ship slavutych withstood the russians for days.

Right on. ALL of the high command officers with an exception of a few Marines betrayed their oath and gave orders to the ships early on to return to harbor when the ships' commanding officers started a break out on their on when the blockade wasn't fully setup. ALL of the coast guard vessels and Naval Aviation brigade aircraft broke through Russian siege.
As I've said before, Ukrainian Military is the only state institution that is trusted (and overwhelmingly so) by the populace. In areas close to the battle zone it's pretty much de facto in charge of all the social services.
Soldiers from one of the units took charge of the kindergarten located just a couple of KMs behind the front line. Most of the gifts are paid for out of soldiers' pockets.
I have talked to somebody who works at Thyssen Krupp Marine Systems about that ship. He said it would be quite simple to modify that ship to western standarts. He stated a 200million Euro number to replace the weapon systems, overhaul and modify the ship. (less crew necessary, new communications etc). What he mentions was that all the russian systems need so much room within the ship (he has seen ex GDR ships) take so much space compared to their western counterparts that those could be easily fitted.

Russia has massed all the forces it needs on Ukraine's border if it were to decide to carry out an "incursion" into the country, and it could achieve its objective in three to five days, NATO's top military commander said on Wednesday. 200mln is obviously quite affordable even to Ukraine. Perhaps there are other issues that Ukrainians are not sharing. I would concerned with hull integrity and the overall built quality and the state of the vessel itself. How long this been going on, since Ukraine got independence.?
Every day the honor guard of the Ukrainian Army rings bell in honor of the fallen Ukrainian soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice since Ukraine gained independence in 1991. January 20th is the deadliest day in the modern Ukrainian military history. Today, on January 20th, the bell has rung 50 times. People in attendance were losing conscience.
A criminal under house arrest was trying to escape to Russia. Well, good thing for him that border guards ski patrol found him before he froze to death.

I would mostly think that Thyssen or any shipbuilder in the European Union is simply not allowed to work on that ship, because that would be an open affront towards Russia. Supporting yes with thoughts and prayers thats what they do really supplying modern lethal military hardware no even if Ukraine gives cash no. Think about that the modern Newly built costs 640mln newly built with the most gucci stuff.

The attitude is changing. French are supplying helicopters. I bet soon they will follow up with military models, but, yeah with Germany it's a NO, but things do change
