Reservists attached to the 3rd Special Forces Regiment conduct training exercises. How can a special forces regiment have reservists is beyond me, but my issues with "militia"-like attitudes and structure of Ukrainian Military have been well documented in this thread.

There's quite a number of countries, including the US that have special forces units in reserve or national guard.

What a strange coincidence every time when a russian convoy pass the border, the fighting increase .

It all depends on Russian military recruitment cycles... and exams at their military institutions. The latest draft was in August - September, exams are now in full swing, so here you go. Basically, whenever there is an increase in artillery and mortar strikes, which are widely inaccurate to boot, then "fresh meat" started rotation. Unfortunately, most of the losses right now are due to sniper activity.

You know Ukrainians always put their own twist on idea. Remember that they are recruiting for an active duty in special forces by posting announcements on Job Boards. Plus, as you can see some of the reservists in the unit are better kitted out than active duty troops. This screams "thrill seekers" to me.

I re-watched a few Finnish movies about WWII. Striking similarities to the present day Ukrainian army in terms of how troops and lower rank officers behave and act out.

Random stuff.
