Wow, ran across this while I was looking for a Blood Diamond pants reference to show a young co-worker the old meme, as he is recreating a "Blood Diamond rifle" haha! Glad to find this site! I was a member of MP.Net, see a lot of familiar names around. The Mess wasn't really my thing as me come for pictures! I am a former Brit who served in the USMC.

Blood Diamond Pants? What's the meme here, he was wearing basic ODG pants so I don't understand, haha.
Blood Diamond Rifle was a Colt Model 725 cut down to an 11.5
The 725 has the A2 upper that either came with the XM4 profile on later runs, which earlier runs used the Model 653 barrels until those were no longer in the system and barrels from the transitional pre XM4 Model 727's were being made became available to use as well.
If your friend wants to find the Surefire 660 with mount, I've seen some being sold on Tacswap and occasionally on arfcom or M4C.
Edit: Fixed the mistakes, wasn't the 723 but the 725.
On the old MP.net one fine day an Airsofter posted a picture of the pants worn in Blood Diamond and ask for people to ID them so he could build the perfect Blood Diamond set up. This led to a lot of mockery (airsofters were rather well known for doing this) and eventually someone produced a BDP moral patch (I've got a couple tucked away somewhere) and maybe a photo too.

Blood Diamond Pants is a reference to the generic, olive drab brand of cargo pants worn by actor Leonardo DiCaprio in the 2006 Blood Diamond (film). A requ

I consider airsofter/milsim folks to be harmless. In fact, I know a few former Marines and a former Ranger doing it. Of the Marines one is pretty famous from Blackwater and owns Haley Strategic and was Recon, the other a PH recipient infantryman now an LEO and a really good shooter.
People get too high-strung about what's basically a sincere form of flattery.
