Wow, you can only imagine the emotion. Also all the women asking about their missing husbands, if this was the last transfer it must have brought thousands of such women out. But also look at just 10 years of progress, beetles everywhere, neat buildings.

Yes, much sadness and joy both the ones lucky enough to have a husband or son come off the bus and the relived holy terror and horror of being the ones left in the courtyard alone holding a sign....and not even knowing where to go to find their remains.......so tragic

The pictures are very moving indeed. Believe me the life ninth Russian POW camps was no cake walk, not that I would like to make victims of the German Landsers, far from that, but it was quite an ordeal these men had to go through. Not to think about the fears, hopes and deceptions of the parents, wives and children.

I generally realize what's going on here and what I'm seeing, but can you fill us in at all on some of this and what we're looking at???
I have a couple Q's: are the women POW's nurses from field hospitals or from somewhere else? Who's the pilot shown in the pic?? Where and what is this camp that all this is occurring at?? What year is this?
Anything else would be great if you have any of it......
