Politics Syrian Civil War

Rebel forces seem to have pushed SAA a little bit back in SW part of Idlib province or more like taken over villages from which SAA retreated in a preparation for a zero hour.

What can I say? Erdogan have the strong card here - he can keep them, or can let them crash into our borders. There is also the option of holding back the Russian-Iranian war effort in Idlib, so the Syrians living there could stay in their homes. But the Russian apologists like Ivan le Fou are fanatically against anything that upsets Moscow.

The Syrians could keep their homes if the only people there were the syrian army (that you loathe). The Turks are invaders, the "rebels" are a bunch of ragtag bunch of sick POS coming from many countries, including my own France to get a piece of land where they can practice their middle age ridiculous beliefs.

As for the Russians and the Iranians, they are the only ones who have been invited by Syrians to restore some peace and order in the country.

Unfortunately "the left" are pro war as usual, in the election there's no anti war traction with college and youth, all they care about is Trump and getting more bathrooms for non existent genders, oh and pay their debts.
Good news on that last point! The way things are going they may get a chance to put a uniform on and pay their debts.
And smarten up a little too.

Pretty much, except HQ is reported to be temporary barracks or something like that. There weren't any reports on high ranking or not so high Turkish officers being killed there as far as I know. Presumably photos of that place from the video where they were hit.View attachment 210436View attachment 210437

An Turks didn't take the gloves off completely. They still let "Orsk" through the Bosphorus and can close it for warships only with Montreux convention's article 20-21 wich requires pretty much declaration of war or smth close.
I know its a warzone, and that its been bombed, but really, wouldn't a trench have been more sensible? Looks like they picked the worst build building in the area?

Yeah, I think they didn't really plan to stay there for long and were constantly moving. Even observation posts are usually lightly reinforced with barriers. However, I presume that in an airstrike any building is the worst place, unless it is reinforced all over or has a sturdy cellar (even despite the possibility of being buried in wreckage). And I don't think that digging treches when the frontline is constantly moving is a good idea too, seeing how they were giving up the SW part where the airstrike took place. Though in this scenario a good trech really could reduce the casualties considering that they presumably flocked in one building and got hit all at once. Or not, I haven't really expirienced an airstrike and I hope not to in the future. In conclusion, there should be many factors, but my money is on that they simply weren't ready for a real confrontation and weren't really preparing. Their actions except last few days seem half-assed.

I agree with the comments, I think they think they fight kurds, now their enemy has drones, missiles, etc. sigint etc.

an expensive lesson.

That's the reason they gave NATO and the world.

But it quickly turned into a "remove Assad" sh*t show.

Erdo shouldn't have fueled the Syrian civil war, if he wasn't ready for refugees.

"It is claimed that the 9th observation point of the TAF, which remained in the regime area in Morek, was attacked by the Assad forces artillery."

Thats the exact reason why he being in Syrian civil war, if he dont do.. uncontrollable influx of Syrian refugees pouring into his country and it also will create social problem with locals... the best option is stop regime advance on Idlib behind deescalation line, fortify the idlib area like in Al Bab and Afrin.. and resettle Syrian refugees back to their home. With this he can stop Syria from going to its border and europe as a whole..

Erdogan funded and encouraged rebel groups to start the Syrian civil war in order to overthrow Assad and fulfill his fantasy of remaking the Ottoman Empire.

After 1980, the Kurdish language was officially prohibited in public and private life. Many who spoke, published, or sang in Kurdish were arrested and imprisoned. The Kurdish resistance was then formed, as part of a growing discontent over the suppression of Turkey's ethnic Kurds, in an effort to establish linguistic, cultural, and political rights for Turkey's ethnic Kurdish minority.
