Politics Syrian Civil War

Having no ‘skin in the game’ it’s very hard to track who is who, and then to have isis factions, then groups swapping sides, and ultimately it appears they are fighting over some fields Of fruit or olive trees? And some ruined cities?

"REPORTS: 32 Turkish soldiers killed in Russian airstrikes in northern Syria"

That had to be expected.

I suppose that will provide enough reasons for Erdo to remain and/or intensify his actions in Syria.

RIP anyway.

Good thing the US have left the region though.

If these reports are true, this is a huge escalation. There are reports that Russia has closed airspace over Idlib to Turkish medivac helicopters.

Unfortunately these reports are true. Twatter or not 20 more Turkish soldiers have indeed been killed.

What exactly is Charles listers big idea?
Should we send in our armoured divisions? We should be good to go in 3 months, if Turkey let’s use use their railroad....

or dispatch our carriers to sit near Cyprus....

Or resume the international involvement; with weapons, air strikes, SF operations, etc... Let's have Russia, Turkey, Syria, Iran and all the proxies along with European troops, US troops and why not a few other actors.

It worked so well in the past, it should have great results with even more people involved.

Not sure if this is indeed, or if it has to be viewed as, an attempt at justifying what happened, but Moscow is accusing Turkey of arming and supporting illegal armed groups in the Idlib deescalation area.

Considering how closely involved with terrorist groups Turkey is, it was only a matter of time until Russia dropped a pancake on Turkish soldiers.

Are there any official comments from Russia on this incident?

to be fair, Turkey appears to have given the same apc that they use, to their allies, so that does make recognition kind of hard. And Russia probably doesn’t care too much, bit of payback on the rest of the world for its mercs getting wiped out a few months ago, by the yanks...all’s fair as they say....

not hearing much from any European leader about ‘something must be done’

Personally, I'd let the locals, Russia and Iran sort this clusterfark out. It's their show now.

Yeah, this time if Turkey opens all border to refugees inside its borders already plus those in northern Syria fleeing Idlib, we are talking potentially 6 millions.

On the upside, 6 millions refugees in Europe demanding free stuffs would mean the end of Merkel, Macaron and the EU.

An official declaration of war against the Syrian regime will be issued by the Assembly's decision tomorrow.
